At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh briefly introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University is one of the leading research and training addresses for Chinese studies in Vietnam. Every year, the University welcomes nearly 500-600 Chinese students. Many Chinese students who graduated from the University have become experts in Vietnamese language and culture, ambassadors and diplomats in Vietnam. The President hopes that the two universities can carry out practical cooperation in the future.

In response, Prof. Zhou Jianhua expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of the USSH. He said that Huzhou University is currently looking for ways to exchange academic knowledge and students with universities in Vietnam, including the USSH. With its strengths in business and engineering, Huzhou University wants to cooperate with our social sciences and humanities departments. Some of the training cooperation directions he proposed are rural tourism and sustainable economic development. He also invited experts and scientists from the USSH to attend a conference on green development in Asia-Pacific at Huzhou University in July 2020.

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh welcomed the ideas of Prof. Zhou Jianhua and suggested that the two sides keep in regular contact and exchange more specific ideas in the future. The Department of Cooperation and Development will be the contact point of the University.

Huzhou University was founded in 1958 and is located in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. The university has about 20,000 undergraduates, 500 graduate and postgraduate students, and 600 international students. Its training programs focus mainly on business, commerce, electronic engineering, and manufacturing.
