With its core business being retail, AEON Group with 180 member companies, does business with the nature of improving people's lives and a number of services from shopping centers, general merchandise stores and supermarkets to fashion stores, financial services and entertainment facilities, from the domestic market in Japan to market development networks in China and Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.
Along with business investment activities, AEON also pays attention to supporting Vietnamese students by awarding many scholarships. The scholarships are funded by a contribution of 1% of pre-tax profits of companies in the Group.
At the meeting, Principal Pham Quang Minh gave an overview of the achievements in training and scientific research of the school's staff and students. At the same time, he discussed with the General Director about the future cooperation direction between the school and AEON Group in parallel with the scholarship awarding activities for students. Also at the meeting, the Principal congratulated Mr. Yukio Konishi, former General Director, for successfully completing his duties during his time working in Vietnam.
New General Director of AEONMALL Vietnam Yasutsugu Iwamura sent his sincere thanks to Principal Pham Quang Minh for taking the time to receive the delegation and affirmed that he will cooperate with the School in the coming time.
Since 2012, AEON Group has awarded 105 scholarships to 105 students of the University with a total scholarship value of 30,450 USD. The scholarships have become a source of spiritual encouragement and material support for students to strive to overcome difficulties in life to study better. Many students after receiving the scholarships have used this source of funding in the most useful way for studying, scientific research, completing their graduation thesis and graduating with a Bachelor's degree of Excellence, in which many students have been recruited to work at AEON after graduating for about 4 months.
