On July 19, 2016, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with a delegation from Hezhou Academy (China) led by Associate Professor Chu Xiangru (Deputy Head of the School of International Education, Hezhou Academy). Representatives from the Faculty of Linguistics and the Office of Cooperation and Development also participated in the meeting.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) stated that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading university in training and research in the social sciences and humanities. The university currently has 16 faculties, 12 centers and research institutes, as well as over 10,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students across various levels and training systems. In 1995, the University established the Department of Chinese Studies under the Faculty of Oriental Studies and has been training students from bachelor's to doctoral levels in Chinese Studies. In June 2016, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan visited Ha Chau Academy and was very impressed. Therefore, the Vice Rector wishes to promote a stronger relationship with Ha Chau Academy.

In response, Associate Professor Chu Tuong Nhu put forward several cooperation proposals such as faculty exchange, as well as exchanges and meetings between students of the two universities. Initially, Ha Chau Academy will send students and faculty to participate in short-term courses at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Specifically, in October 2016, the Academy will send a delegation of faculty members, including leaders from various departments, to visit the University. Conversely, Ha Chau Academy wishes to welcome students and faculty from the University for exchange programs, internships, and practical training; and hopes the University will assist in developing the Vietnamese language program at the Academy. These activities will be formalized in a formal cooperation agreement between the two sides in the future.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan pledged that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will provide the best possible conditions regarding accommodation, living arrangements, and learning environment for Chinese students studying at the University. The University will also organize extracurricular activities and exchanges between students of the two universities to further strengthen mutual understanding. The Cooperation and Development Department will be the focal point for implementing cooperation activities between the two sides.

During the working session, Associate Professor Chu Tuong Nhu also visited the Museum of Anthropology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Founded in 1943, Ha Chau University currently has 784 faculty members, including 169 professors and associate professors, and 271 masters and doctors. It offers 27 undergraduate and 35 college-level programs, with a total of 10,210 full-time students. The university campus covers 1,500 acres, with a built-up area of ​​over 260,000 square meters. The library currently holds 758,000 book titles and 1,950,000 e-books. The university has collaborative relationships with universities in Vietnam, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries.
