On July 4, 2016, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) received and worked with Dr. Noriko Nishino (Research Attaché of the Embassy of Japan). Also receiving the reception were representatives of the Faculty of History and the Office of Cooperation and Development.

The meeting revolved around Dr. Noriko Nishino's proposal to donate the entire archives of Associate Professor Dr. Nishimura Masanari to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, as a prestigious training and research unit in the field of social sciences and humanities in Vietnam. Accordingly, Dr. Noriko Nishino has chosen and hopes that the Department of Archaeology, Faculty of History, University of Social Sciences and Humanities will receive and effectively exploit the value of the documents left by Associate Professor Dr. Nishimura Masanari. The entire archive of Associate Professor Dr. Nishimura consists of 120 boxes of books, of which 100 boxes are kept at her private home in Japan and 20 boxes are kept in Vietnam.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) welcomed and thanked Dr. Noriko Nishino for her proposal. The Rector committed to building an archive to exploit the above-mentioned learning resources and documents. This will be a set of documents that will serve the training and research needs of lecturers, staff, students and postgraduates of the Faculty of History and the University in general. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities also committed to covering all costs of transporting the books from Japan to Vietnam.

To initially implement the above proposal, it is expected that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the representative of the Japanese Embassy, ​​Dr. Noriko Nishino, will sign an agreement to receive the book set at the end of July. After the University of Social Sciences and Humanities receives the full set of books, the two sides will sign an official agreement to use the book set. The Department of Archaeology (Faculty of History) will be the focal point between the University and Dr. Noriko Nishino.

Associate Professor Dr. Nishimura Masanuri is a Japanese scholar with more than 20 years of research on Vietnam in the fields of Archaeology, History, Culture and Anthropology... in which Archaeology is the field in which he has made the most contributions. He is interested in Vietnamese archaeology in both breadth and depth; in both spatial aspects (regions and ancient cultures) and chronological aspects (from prehistoric to historical periods). He has conducted hundreds of excavations, explorations and archaeological investigations in Vietnam and Southeast Asia. In June 2013, Associate Professor Dr. Nishimura Masanari died in a traffic accident while on his way to investigate relics in Bac Ninh. He decided to hand over all of his archives to a training unit in Vietnam to show his attachment to the country, people and culture of Vietnam.
