Over the past year, the quality assurance and quality control work has been assessed as having been completed according to plan and has made a significant contribution to improving the quality of education at the school.
The conference aimed to review the quality assurance (QA) activities in 2018 and implement key QA tasks in the coming period. In particular, the conference also shared information with representatives from various units regarding new points in the Ministry of Education and Training's Quality Accreditation Standards for Educational Institutions and the standards and criteria for research universities that the university will use as a basis for its QA activities.

Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Rector of the University) chaired the 2018 Conference on Educational Quality Assurance.
Speaking at the Conference, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa affirmed that the University's quality assurance work has achieved outstanding results in recent years. In 2014, the University had only one program accredited according to the AUN standards and three programs accredited at the same level. From 2014 to the present, the University has had five more programs accredited according to the AUN standards (Oriental Studies, Philosophy, Literature, Sociology, and Psychology), more than 10 training programs accredited at the same level, and three programs accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (Psychology, Vietnamese Studies, and International Studies). By 2020, the University will complete the evaluation at all levels for all undergraduate training programs, including eight programs accredited by AUN.

The conference was attended by leaders of faculties, departments, centers, and functional offices.
Vice Rector Tran Thi Minh Hoa also emphasized that the most difficult aspect of quality accreditation is ensuring that staff and units have a correct understanding of the importance and significance of quality accreditation activities. Quality accreditation helps the university compare itself with the evaluation criteria of universities in the region and internationally, determine its position on the global scale, identify its strengths, and recognize the limitations that need to be overcome to improve the quality of its operations.

The Vice Rector also suggested that in the future, heads of units should pay attention to implementing measures to raise awareness of quality assurance among all staff, lecturers, employees, and students; and focus on building a network of stakeholders (employers, alumni, partners) involved in quality assurance work.

In addition, the University and its departments need to invest more resources in terms of human resources, finance, time, etc., to further improve the effectiveness of quality assurance and accreditation activities. Also, starting from the first semester of the 2018-2019 academic year, the University will change the method of collecting student feedback on courses to an online format, at the following address:http://survey.ussh.vnu.edu.vn.
Finally, post-accreditation quality assessment of training programs needs special attention from all units. Each faculty and department should have a roadmap and plan for implementing quality improvement in training programs according to the recommendations and requirements of the evaluation team. Quality improvement activities must be a regular, central, and proactive task at all units, contributing to building a culture of quality throughout the university.
