Over the past year, the work of DBCL and KDCL was assessed to have been completed according to the set plan and contributed significantly to improving the quality of education of the School.
The conference aims to review the activities of quality assurance (QA) in 2018 and deploy key tasks of QA in the coming time. In particular, the conference also shared information with representatives of the leaders of the units about the new points in the set of standards for quality assurance of educational institutions of the Ministry of Education and Training and the set of standards and criteria for research universities that the University will use as a basis for implementing QA activities.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa (Vice Principal of the School) chaired the 2018 Education Quality Assurance Conference
Speaking at the Conference, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Minh Hoa affirmed: The school's quality assurance work has achieved outstanding results in recent times. In 2014, the school had only 01 program accredited according to AUN standards, 03 peer-accredited programs. From 2014 to present, the school has had 05 more programs accredited according to AUN standards (Oriental Studies, Philosophy, Literature, Sociology and Psychology), more than 10 peer-accredited training programs, 03 programs accredited according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (Psychology, Vietnamese Studies and International Studies). By 2020, the school will complete the assessment of all undergraduate training programs at all levels, including 08 programs accredited by AUN.
The conference was attended by leaders of faculties, departments, centers and functional departments.
Vice Principal Tran Thi Minh Hoa also emphasized that the most difficult thing in quality assurance work is the correct awareness of the staff and units about the importance and significance of quality assurance activities. Quality assurance helps the University compare with the evaluation criteria of regional and international universities, determine where it stands on the world scale, see what strengths and limitations need to be overcome to improve the quality of activities.
The Vice President also suggested that in the coming time, Heads of units need to pay attention to implementing measures to raise awareness of quality assurance work to each cadre, lecturer, employee and student; pay attention to building a network of stakeholders (employers, alumni, partners) participating in quality assurance work.
In addition, the School and its units need to invest more resources in terms of human resources, finance, time, etc. to improve the effectiveness of the activities of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Department. Also from the first semester of the 2018-2019 school year onwards, the School will change the form of collecting feedback from students about the course to online, at the addresshttp://survey.ussh.vnu.edu.vn.
Finally, post-accreditation of training program quality needs to be given special attention by units. Each faculty and department needs to have a roadmap and plan to improve training program quality according to the recommendations and requirements of the assessment team. Quality improvement activities must be a regular, focused and proactive task at units, contributing to building a quality culture throughout the school.
