On December 17, 2018, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, organized the Conference on Legal Dissemination and Summary of Inspection and Legal Affairs Work in 2018 at the auditorium of room 304, building E.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University) chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University) and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University), along with 100 delegates representing the leadership of training units, functional departments, centers, the Youth Union and Student Association, training assistants of various programs, student affairs and work assistants, part-time inspectors of the units, and representatives of the Standing Committee of the University's Trade Union and Youth Union.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim delivered a speech at the conference.

At the beginning of the conference, Comrade Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department) presented the draft report summarizing the inspection and legal affairs work in 2018. The delegates offered many practical suggestions for the school's inspection and legal affairs work.

Under the direction of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, in 2018, the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department closely coordinated with functional departments, units, and political and social organizations within the school to carry out internal inspection and supervision of various activities actively, seriously, and effectively; promptly handling a number of issues such as verifying diplomas and certificates, resolving complaints and denunciations, detecting and handling violations of discipline, regulations, and rules…

Regarding legal affairs in the 2018 academic year, the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department also coordinated with units within the University to inspect and review the implementation of State regulations and VNU regulations; reporting and making recommendations to VNU on existing problems and limitations in the implementation of State regulations and VNU's administrative documents. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities was assessed as a leading unit of VNU in inspection and legal affairs.

In the second part, the Conference listened to Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Head of the Personnel and Organization Department) briefly present six new State documents on personnel and organization work, such as: Regulations on procedures for considering and appointing professors and associate professors; Guidelines on emulation and reward work in the education sector; Directive on strengthening training before appointing leadership and management positions for officials, civil servants, and public employees…

Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh briefly presented six new government documents.

Next, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duc Thuan (Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management) also presented some regulations on the management of archival documents in the education and training sector.

Concluding the conference, Professor Nguyen Van Kim highly appreciated the spirit of collaboration and connection among the units in 2018, and also emphasized that in the coming time, the task of inspection and legal affairs in particular and of the entire University in general is to further build upon the successes achieved and to strive for innovation and creativity to suit the current state of higher education.
