175 outstanding young people at the grassroots level were commended.

On December 17, 2018, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor outstanding young people of 2018.

175 outstanding young people at the grassroots level were commended.

This year, among the 175 outstanding young people of the University who were honored, there were 151 students, 22 young staff members, and 2 doctoral candidates. Of these, 8 students and 1 young staff member were recognized as Outstanding Young People at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi level, and 1 student received a certificate of merit from the Director of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) commended the contributions of outstanding young people to the development of the University.

In the report on the achievements of students and young staff of the University in general, and the outstanding young faces of the University in particular, during the 2017-2018 academic year, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of Student Affairs and Activities Department) provided the following figures: The University awarded diplomas to 1,437 regular students, of which 1.68% graduated with excellent grades, 51.11% with good grades, and 45.38% with fair grades. Outstanding students who excelled in their studies and training include: Nguyen Thi Lien (K60, Faculty of Oriental Studies) with an average GPA of 3.95; Pham Kim Anh (K60, Sociology) with an average GPA of 3.95; Nguyen Quang Ngoc (K60, Psychology) with 3.89 points; and Pham Thi Van Anh (K60, Library and Information Science) with 3.89 points. Can Thi Huyen (K60 Literature) achieved a score of 3.85... The school awarded certificates of merit to 90 students with excellent and outstanding academic results, 87 students who are senior officers and union/association officers with achievements in their work, and 71 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who excelled in their studies. 15 out of 81 young officers received the title of outstanding worker at the grassroots level.

Regarding scientific research achievements, 8 student research projects won awards at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi level, and 4 projects won awards at the ministerial level. In the 2017-2018 academic year, 874 students received scholarships for academic achievement and social assistance; 252 students received scholarships from organizations inside and outside the university.

For young faculty members, the majority simultaneously hold multiple positions, encompassing both professional and organizational/administrative roles. However, many exemplary teachers not only excel in teaching but also publish numerous works in domestic and international journals, achieving the required academic qualifications for lecturers.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Professor Pham Quang Minh stated that the outstanding young individuals who have achieved many good results in their studies, scientific research, teaching, and training have made a significant contribution to the overall achievements of the university, especially in contributing to the orientation of building the university into an advanced research university, integrated with the region and the world. The Rector also encouraged and motivated the young people to always maintain their passion and enthusiasm in life, to be themselves, and to constantly strive for excellence.
