Conference on Legal Dissemination and Review of Inspection and Legal Affairs Work for the 2016-2017 Academic Year

Attending the conference were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University) and 129 delegates representing the leadership of training units, functional departments, centers, the Youth Union - Student Association, training assistants of various programs, student affairs and work assistants, part-time inspectors of the units, and the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union, departmental trade unions, and the University's Trade Union Inspection Committee.

Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim delivered the opening remarks at the conference.

To begin the conference, the school invited Mr. Dieu Ba Duoc (Head of the Social Insurance Policy Department of Vietnam) to present some new regulations of the amended Vietnam Social Insurance Law, effective from January 1, 2018. Following this, the conference also heard presentations from speakers on several management documents and legal regulations issued recently concerning training, personnel organization, training quality assurance, and student affairs.

MSc. Dieu Ba Duoc disseminated some new regulations of the Vietnamese Social Insurance Law.

In the second part, delegates listened to the draft Report summarizing the inspection and legal affairs work for the 2016-2017 academic year and contributed many practical suggestions for the school's inspection and legal affairs work.

Under the direction of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, during the 2016-2017 academic year, the Inspection and Legal Affairs Department closely coordinated with functional departments, units, and political and social organizations within the school to carry out internal inspection and supervision of all aspects of activities; promptly handling issues such as verifying diplomas and certificates, resolving complaints and denunciations, detecting and handling violations of discipline, regulations, and rules…

Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department) presented on student affairs.

Legal work during the 2016-2017 academic year was strongly promoted through various forms, while also delving deeper into understanding and protecting the legal interests of the university's staff and lecturers. The Inspection and Legal Affairs Department also coordinated with other units within the university to inspect and review the implementation of state and VNU regulations; reporting and recommending to VNU issues and limitations in the implementation of state regulations and VNU's administrative documents.

Thanks to its outstanding performance in these tasks, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is considered the leading unit within Vietnam National University, Hanoi in inspection and legal affairs.
