This year, the University awarded doctoral degrees to 30 graduate students who completed their studies and successfully defended their theses according to regulations. The graduate students came from 15 majors: Journalism, Political Science, Southeast Asian Studies, History of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Archival Studies, Comparative Linguistics, Languages of Vietnamese Ethnic Minorities, Science and Technology Management, Psychology, Religious Studies, Dialectical Materialism and Historical Materialism, Scientific Socialism, Vietnamese Literature, Literary Theory, Sociology. Notably, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was the first institution in the country to implement doctoral training in Science and Technology Management since 2013 and after 4 years, the first graduate student received a doctoral degree in 2017.
The school also awarded Master's degrees to 265 students in 17 majors. Of which, the major in Vietnamese Studies, which has been taught at the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language since 2015, for the first time had a student graduate and receive a Master's degree, especially a Chinese student.
Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh awarded certificates of merit to 03 new Masters and 03 new PhDs with excellent academic and research achievements.

Sharing the joy with the new Masters and PhDs, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Principal of the School) said that he was deeply moved when he saw the joy and pride in the eyes of teachers, students, relatives and families. Because the efforts of teachers and students in teaching and studying for many years have been rewarded and honored in today's solemn ceremony. It is the success of the students and postgraduates that has contributed to the achievements in the research, training and international integration of the School.

The Rector also hopes that with the knowledge gained and the degrees granted by a prestigious university such as the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, students will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons, develop their abilities, and make new strides in their careers. Along with their contributions and dedication to the unit and the country, alumni and PhD students will help spread the values, messages, and position the identity and style of the University in the community and society. The University will continue to accompany, support, and look forward to alumni and PhD students in their study and research plans and other meaningful community projects in the future.
