Seminar “Discipline without tears”

Responding to the Family Year 2013 with the theme “Connecting Love” and Vietnamese Family Day (June 28), on the morning of June 20, 2013, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Women's Union of the University in collaboration with the Women's Union of the University of Natural Sciences organized a seminar on “Discipline without tears”.

Attending the workshop were Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the School's Trade Union, Dr. Trinh Thi Thuy Giang - Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Natural Sciences - and nearly 100 union officials and members of the two schools.

On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the two schools, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang introduced to the conference the Government's Decision on taking June 28 every year as "Vietnam Family Day" and 2013 as "Vietnam Family Year"; Decree No. 02/2013/ND-CP of the Prime Minister "Regulations on family work" and "Vietnam Family Development Strategy to 2020, vision 2030".

Next, the speaker, Master Tran Thi Ai Lien, shared with parents the dangers of violence in educating children, the philosophy and lifestyle of "rejecting violence"; methods of "criticizing" to reduce bad behavior and "praising" to encourage good behavior in children; what to say and do to create a peaceful and happy family environment for children...

“Discipline Without Tears” is a two-way discussion, sharing not only the views of the speakers but also an open and sincere exchange between parents about their views and experiences in raising children.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, this is the opening activity for activities in response to the Vietnamese Family Year. In the coming time, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will continue to carry out practical activities to promote, motivate, encourage and support the school's staff and civil servants to build prosperous, equal, progressive, happy and sustainable families as the goals set out in the Vietnam Family Development Strategy.
