On July 8, 2013, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Director of the Vietnam Film Institute) officially signed a cooperation agreement between the two institutions.
Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Film Institute will cooperate in the fields of research and training with the following specific activities:
- Conduct research on scientific topics related to audiovisual materials, films, methods of archiving, exploiting and using audiovisual archives, and the history of Vietnamese and world cinema;
- Organize scientific seminars on the field of audiovisual archiving and film art.
- Scientists and administrators from both units will collaborate in approving, reviewing, accepting, and evaluating research projects related to their respective fields of expertise.
- Exchange catalogs and scientific information and documents of mutual interest.
- Organize short-term training courses for participants (staff, lecturers, students, trainees, and researchers) from both sides on: Scientific research methods; Methods and techniques of audiovisual archiving; Methods of film art research, etc.
- Receiving and facilitating visits by staff and students from both sides for field surveys, internships, exchanges, and discussions on professional issues.
- Invite or assign staff to participate in teaching short-term and long-term training courses for students and staff, as requested by both parties.

In addition, the two units will cooperate in organizing screenings of documentaries, feature films, and promotional activities to introduce valuable Vietnamese and foreign films to staff, students, trainees, and researchers; and organize meetings and exchanges between Vietnamese film artists and staff, students, and trainees of the school at the locations of both sides…
