On July 8, 2013, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan (Director of the Vietnam Film Institute) signed an official cooperation agreement between the two units.
Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Vietnam Film Institute will cooperate in the fields of research and training with specific activities:
- Conduct research on scientific topics related to audiovisual documents, films, methods of archiving, exploiting and using audiovisual archives, history of Vietnamese and world cinema;
- Organize scientific seminars on the field of audiovisual archives and cinematographic art.
- Scientists and managers of the two units coordinate to participate in approving, appraising, accepting and evaluating relevant research projects in the professional fields of the two sides.
- Exchange of catalogues and information, scientific documents of interest to both sides.
- Open short-term training courses for subjects (staff, lecturers, students, trainees, postgraduates) of both sides on: Scientific research methods; Audiovisual archiving methods and practices; Cinema art research methods...
- Receive and facilitate staff and students from both sides to conduct field surveys, practice, exchange and discuss professional issues.
- Invite or send staff to teach students and staff in short-term and long-term training courses at the request of both parties.
In addition, the two units will coordinate to organize screenings of documentaries, feature films and propaganda activities, promote and introduce valuable Vietnamese and foreign films to staff, students, trainees and postgraduates; organize meetings and exchanges with Vietnamese film artists with staff, students and trainees of the school at the locations of both sides...
