To inspire new thinking about entrepreneurship and contribute to the goal of a "Startup Nation," the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, collaborated with the Youth Department of VTV6 - Vietnam Television to organize a seminar entitled "Blue Ocean Strategy and Entrepreneurship." The program was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities on February 24, 2017, chaired by Dr. Ta Bich Loan - Head of VTV6, Vietnam Television, and Head of the Broadcasting and Television Department, Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

Dr. Ta Bich Loan – Head of the Youth Department at VTV6, Vietnam Television Station, Head of the Broadcasting and Television Department, Faculty of Journalism and Communication.

The seminar was attended by journalist Hoang Quoc Le from the "Creative Entrepreneurship" program (VTV6), along with guests representing successful startup businesses: CEO Nguyen Minh Quy (NOVAON Internet Group), CEO Tran Xuan Du (RAVI Clean Food Company Limited). The seminar also attracted nearly one hundred students from the Faculty of Journalism and Communication and several other faculties in the University.

Journalist Hoang Quoc Le - Startup Innovation Program (VTV6, Vietnam Television)

CEO Nguyen Minh Quy - NOVAON Internet Group. Founded in 2006, NOVAON has become a leading internet group, reaching a revenue milestone of $10 million in 2016.

CEO Tran Xuan Du - RAVI Clean Food Co., Ltd. RAVI is an agricultural technology startup aiming to solve the problems of producing, monitoring, and controlling clean food using new technologies, making clean food a common and readily available commodity in society at an affordable price for the majority of Vietnamese people.

The program provided students with valuable information related to the "Blue Ocean Strategy" and "entrepreneurship innovation." Speakers engaged in discussions and helped students clarify issues such as: the concept and fundamental aspects of the "Blue Ocean Strategy" and "entrepreneurial spirit," exemplary models of the startup movement in general and in the field of Journalism and Media in particular; lessons learned, new perspectives, and new ways of thinking about entrepreneurial innovation, etc. From this, students' questions regarding issues such as capital, ideas, and startup methods were also specifically answered by the speakers. What is the position and role of journalism and media in the context of a "startup nation"? You yourself could become a successful startup in the media field – why not?...

With direct interaction between speakers, the program truly offers students a great opportunity to gain a comprehensive overview of entrepreneurship. From there, students can independently develop strategies to exploit gaps and hidden values, creating strengths for individuals, organizations, and businesses in an increasingly competitive social environment.

 

The students actively asked questions about "Blue Oceans and Entrepreneurship."

This seminar is part of the regular professional activities of the Broadcasting and Television Department, Faculty of Journalism and Communication. Dr. Ta Bich Loan officially introduced herself to the students as the Head of the Broadcasting and Television Department. This seminar has a special theme, which is significant in promoting and strongly motivating students' learning, creativity, and career aspirations.

The seminar attracted nearly one hundred students in a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere.

 

Dr. Bui Chi Trung – Deputy Director of the Center for Journalism and Communication Professional Training, lecturer in the Broadcasting and Television Department, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, thanked the speakers.
