On May 5, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the International University of Korea (IUK) signed a framework agreement establishing a cooperative relationship between the two universities. The main content of the agreement is the exchange of students, lecturers, and scholars; the development of joint training programs; and the organization of conferences and seminars. During the meeting, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh proposed a series of initiatives for specific cooperation activities between the two universities in the future, such as: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities supporting the development of a Vietnamese cultural research center at IUK; developing a joint research project on marriage and families between Vietnam and Korea; and training experts in Vietnamese studies. Dr. Kim Young Shik highly appreciated these ideas and expressed his hope that both sides could soon realize them. Korea International University is a private university, established in 1978, currently comprising six constituent schools: the School of Education, the School of Social Sciences, the School of Health Sciences, the School of Natural Sciences, the School of Engineering, the School of Tourism, and the School of Physical Education and Talent.
