"Vu Nhu To" is one of the most artistically valuable plays in Vietnamese theater. Through unique reinterpretations, author Nguyen Huy Tuong vividly portrays the face of the Le Trung Hung dynasty, specifically Le Tuong Duc, representing a fundamental decline of the Vietnamese feudal system in the 16th century. The idea for the Nine-Tiered Tower took shape, and architect Vu Nhu To's involvement with it was inevitable; no one else could have done it. And only after a conversation with Dan Thiem did the artistic aspirations within him truly come alive. Perhaps Vu had found a Chung Tu Ki who understood him, a wind that dispelled all selfish calculations and ignited two missions: the artistic mission of a genius and the mission of a son of a nation that was not weak. We truly appreciate the artistic aspirations and determination to express the national spirit that the character Vu Nhu To displayed. Only great personalities and great talents are capable of dedicating themselves to and defending their aspirations to the very end.(1)We invite you to enjoy Act 5 - the final act - of the play "Vu Nhu To" by author Nguyen Huy Tuong, performed by the Hoai Vong theater group.
