Celebrating World Tourism Day

On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Faculty of Tourism Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a commemorative program with the theme: "Tourism associated with the protection of biodiversity and the environment – ​​Tourism towards the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi", on the evening of September 27, 2010.
On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Faculty of Tourism Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a commemorative program with the theme: "Tourism associated with the protection of biodiversity and the environment – ​​Tourism towards the celebration of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi", on the evening of September 27, 2010.The program featured a variety of engaging and vibrant activities, including: promoting the importance of protecting biodiversity in tourism and other socio-economic activities; cultural performances celebrating World Tourism Day on September 27th and the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long-Hanoi; a fashion show and a play on the theme "For a Biodiversity Environment"; and interaction between guests and students. This is one of the annual activities of the Faculty of Tourism Studies, aiming to raise awareness among tourism professionals and the community in general about directing current and future tourism activities towards sustainable development goals such as: Green, Clean, and Beautiful Tourism; Tourism - A Connecting Journey; Tourism - For a Green Planet… This year, the program continues to support the slogan of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO): "Tourism linked to the protection of biodiversity." The Faculty of Tourism will also implement several other activities, including: organizing a volunteer cycling event for a green, clean, and beautiful environment (scheduled for March 2011), and participating in the voting program for Ha Long Bay as a new world natural wonder by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
