On the morning of September 30th, the Faculty of Oriental Studies organized a ceremony to launch its volunteer team providing free tour guiding services to tourists in preparation for the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi. With the slogan "10 days for 1000 years," over 90 volunteers participated in providing free guided tours for tourists, divided into three groups guiding visitors at three historical sites: the Temple of Literature, the Imperial Citadel, and Ngoc Son Temple. The volunteers were dynamic and enthusiastic students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and other faculties such as Tourism, History, and Linguistics. These students possessed a strong knowledge of history and culture and were proficient in one of five foreign languages: English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese, or Thai. To ensure the safety and effectiveness of the volunteer activities, the volunteers received guidance from the Faculty Dean and supervising teachers on issues such as presentation content, political awareness, and maintaining good health. Before deployment, the volunteer team underwent four training sessions covering Vietnamese culture, the duties of a tour guide, and specific instructions for each historical site. This is one of the meaningful activities of students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to celebrate the Grand Ceremony.
