Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Ms. Tran Chi Vi - Director of the International Chinese Education Academy and Director of the Overseas Education Academy highly appreciated the potential for cooperation between the two training units.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities always promotes the effective implementation of student and lecturer exchange activities, organizing international scientific conferences with many universities and research and training institutions around the world. In particular, China is one of the important partners in training and developing scientific research of the University, with more than 60 partners being Chinese universities and research institutes spread across cities such as Guangdong, Yunnan, Shanghai, etc.
Along with maintaining the quality of traditional training cooperation programs such as 2+2, 3+1, 3.5+0.5, ... the school also focuses on building new and attractive teaching orientations with flexible time frames and curricula, suitable for many subjects. Especially in 2023 alone, nearly 200 Chinese students are being trained at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - an achievement thanks to the trust of Chinese students in the training program with high practicality and rich content.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that, as leading research and training units in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Xiamen University will have breakthroughs in cooperation through lecturer exchanges and research development. This is the premise for the two training units to organize many seminars, publish scientific publications and create more scholarship opportunities for exchange students between the two schools in particular and Vietnam - China in general.
At the meeting, Ms. Tran Chi Vi - President of the International Chinese Education Academy and President of the Overseas Education Academy also shared similar opinions on the direction of cooperation with Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan. She shared: Xiamen University is a comprehensive training unit, with strengths in social sciences. The school has more than 45,000 students and a large number of Vietnamese students studying. Xiamen University especially focuses on and develops Chinese Cultural Centers around the world with more than 200 lecturers and researchers. In particular, Southeast Asian studies are one of the key research directions of the school - also one of the strengths in research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, which will be the basis for research cooperation in the future.
Previously, representatives of Xiamen University also had discussions with the Faculty of Oriental Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities about cooperation in training bachelors in Chinese Studies according to the 2+2, 3+1 model; Combining the organization of summer camps and internships; Exchange of lecturers, students and scholarship opportunities for students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to study at Xiamen University.
