On October 25, 2012, the Faculty of Management Science - University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a scientific conference with the theme "Research, training and development of Management Science in Vietnam in the process of innovation and international integration".Attending the workshop were delegates from universities, research institutes, and management agencies that have been and are participating in training in Management Science. In his opening speech, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Vice Rector of the University - emphasized: This year, the Faculty of Management Science celebrates the 10th anniversary of its establishment. This workshop is an opportunity to look back on a decade of growth and development of the Faculty in training, scientific research and building a team of staff and lecturers of the Faculty. At the same time, the workshop aims to deepen the relationship between theoretical research and training with management practice in our country and around the world, aiming to perfect the training programs of the Faculty of Management Science to meet the increasing demand for human resources in society, and develop research directions of the Departments in the Faculty.

In the introductory report presented at the workshop, Dr. Tran Van Hai - Head of the Faculty of Management Science - stated: The goal of the workshop is to analyze the achievements and shortcomings of the scientific research and training process on management science, to propose core orientations for developing training and research on management science in the context of international integration in Vietnam. Discussing the undergraduate training program of the Faculty of Management Science, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Xuan Hang (Former Principal, former Head of the Faculty of Management Science) in his speech "The undergraduate training program of the Faculty of Management Science: new steps forward and opportunities and challenges" said: The faculty's undergraduate training program has been innovated many times, specifically going through three major adjustments. The first phase is to gradually build the bachelor training program of Social Management Science. In the second phase, based on this training program framework, the bachelor of management science training program was compiled, clearly forming the following specialized directions: management theory and methods; administrative management; human resource management; social issues management; intellectual property; science and technology management. Recently, the program was adjusted for the third time in the direction of output standards. This adjustment of the training program focuses on three core values of the output standards: attitude, knowledge and specialized skills of the output products must meet the requirements of practice. Discussing the issue of promoting scientific research activities to develop management science in our country in the period of innovation and international integration, Prof. Dr. Duong Xuan Ngoc - Former Deputy Director of the Academy of Journalism and Communication - said that in order for scientific research activities to continue to affirm and further develop the Faculty of Management Science at training institutions, it is necessary to implement a number of key solutions such as: building a team of professional and specialized scientists; It is necessary to have policies to increase investment in facilities and public service funding for scientific research activities; to build and implement mechanisms and solutions, closely coordinate training, research institutes and enterprises to use and disseminate research results and to realize creative ideas in scientific research.
