Lotte Foundation awards scholarships to students

On September 27, 2013, Lotte Foundation held a scholarship award ceremony for university students in Hanoi, including 04 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

Representing the School, Associate Professor Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Principal) attended the ceremony.

This is the 12th time Lotte Group has awarded scholarships to 46 students with excellent academic achievements. In Hanoi alone, the total value of the scholarships for the 2013-2014 school year is 27,600 USD. In the first semester of the 2013-2014 school year, VNU had 12 students receiving scholarships, of which the University of Social Sciences and Humanities had 04 students majoring in Korean Studies receiving scholarships.

The Lotte Foundation Scholarship Fund was established in 1983 to help disadvantaged students reduce their financial burden, focus on their studies and make their dreams come true. In Vietnam, in addition to regular scholarship programs for university students in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, the group invested in building Lotte School in Quang Ngai in July 2000 and in Bac Giang in February 2011. In March 2013, the group donated cars and strollers to the non-governmental organization Metifis, which specializes in helping children affected by Agent Orange in Quang Tri. Also in July 2013, during a visit to Hanoi, the group's chairman, Mr. Shin Dong Bin, donated 100,000 USD to the Vietnam Children's Fund.
