The first course of the 1+3 program in partnership with Busan University has commenced.

On October 5, 2013, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held the opening ceremony for the 1+3 joint training program with Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea). Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Prof. Byeon Ki Chan (Head of the International Relations Department of Busan University of Foreign Studies), and the first cohort of students.

Representatives from both universities took a commemorative photo with the students at the ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh congratulated the first cohort of students in the joint training program between the two universities. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is a leading institution for Korean Studies in Vietnam. Busan University, established in 1981, has relationships with nearly 100 universities and is renowned for its motto: dynamic and creative. The two universities have successfully implemented many collaborative programs in Korean studies and joint training. The Vice Rector affirmed that the prestige of both universities is a guarantee of the quality of the 1+3 program.

Professor Byeon Ki Chan (Busan University of Foreign Studies) shared the following information: Busan University of Foreign Studies is one of the reputable institutions for Vietnamese language training in South Korea. The university offers a diverse range of majors: diplomacy, tourism, journalism, international trade, foreign languages, history, etc. Students participating in joint programs at Busan are provided with excellent conditions for studying and living, and can choose majors that suit their individual needs. In the context of the rapidly developing Vietnam-Korea relationship and the increasing number of Korean companies and organizations in Vietnam, job opportunities for students in these joint training programs will continue to grow.

At the opening ceremony, students were provided with detailed information about the study program and learning conditions in South Korea. Under the 1+3 program, students will spend one year studying Korean at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and three years studying their major at Busan University of Foreign Studies. Students with high academic scores will be eligible for scholarships or tuition fee reductions during their studies in South Korea.
