One of the topics that garnered the most attention from speakers and students was the challenges facing the journalism and media industry in the context of the rapid development of the internet and the current global economic and social difficulties, and what solutions can help newspapers survive and retain their readers. Discussing this issue, veteran journalists argued that in the future, reporters and media professionals need a wider range of skills. While reporters previously worked primarily with traditional means like pen and paper and audio recordings, today's reporters must work with smartphones, social media, and have significant interaction with sources and readers. Media outlets are also trending towards a multi-media approach, combining print, online, television, and radio to create a comprehensive information picture that best meets the needs of readers. Furthermore, another lesson shared by those in the profession is that to thrive in today's complex and highly competitive environment, newsrooms must invest more heavily in their capabilities, producing high-quality articles and newspapers with a unique identity to gain a foothold in the hearts of readers.

Other topics of interest to the students included the issue of journalism in the economy, how journalists build blog communities, and memorable experiences in journalism.
