Prof. Dr. Pham Gia Lam - Vice President of the University - and representatives of the International Relations Department, Training Department, and Faculty of Linguistics received the delegation.

At the end of the meeting, the leaders of the two schools signed a memorandum of understanding between the two sides, in which the cooperation contents include: student exchange, staff and expert exchange; publishing textbooks and documents; collaborative research; collaborative consulting; mutual credit recognition... Next, each specific cooperation content will be discussed and have clear provisions by signing separate cooperation agreements. This general memorandum is valid for 5 years.

Shanghai Foreign Studies University (China) was founded in 1949 and is a key university under the Ministry of Education of China. Initially, the school mainly taught languages and cultures. Since the 1980s, many other majors have been included in the training program such as economics, tourism, journalism, etc. The school currently has 25 master's programs and 10 doctoral programs. Currently, Vietnamese is one of the 7 foreign languages taught here. In September 2008, the first Vietnamese studies class was opened at Shanghai Foreign Studies University.
