Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam, Vice Rector of the University, along with representatives from the International Relations Department, the Training Department, and the Faculty of Linguistics, received the delegation.

At the end of the meeting, representatives from both universities signed a memorandum of cooperation, which includes: student exchange, staff and expert exchange; textbook and document publishing; collaborative research; collaborative consulting; mutual credit recognition, etc. Each specific area of cooperation will be discussed and clearly defined through the signing of separate cooperation agreements. This general memorandum is valid for five years.

Shanghai Foreign Language University (China), established in 1949, is a key university under the Ministry of Education of China. Initially, the university primarily focused on language and culture. Since the 1980s, many other fields have been added to its curriculum, such as economics, tourism, and journalism. Currently, the university offers 25 master's programs and 10 doctoral programs. Vietnamese is one of the seven foreign languages taught there. In September 2008, the first Vietnamese Studies course was opened at Shanghai Foreign Language University.
