On the morning of August 14, 2023, a delegation of Chinese students from Yunnan Normal University, China had a working session at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH).

On behalf of Yunnan University, there were Prof. Duong Kien - Deputy Director of the Institute of Chinese Languages ​​- Yunnan Normal University, Assoc. Prof. Hung The Binh - Chairman of the Expert Council of the Chinese - Vietnamese Translation Certificate Exam and MSc. Ha Diem Hong.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities said that international integration is a strong trend of the school, especially during the post-Covid-19 recovery period, which is a time to promote cooperation with international universities, ensuring the effectiveness of cooperation and mutual benefits. In particular, Chinese universities and research institutes are important partners of the school in training and scientific research, student and lecturer exchange cooperation, international publishing and organizing seminars. In particular, Chinese students and trainees studying at VNU-USSH in many different fields in programs from bachelor's to master's and doctoral degrees are given the best conditions for studying, medical care, and cultural exchange in Vietnam.
Prof. Duong Kien - Deputy Director of the Institute of Chinese Languages ​​- Yunnan Normal University shared: Yunnan Normal University is one of the leading universities, large-scale, multidisciplinary and has many similarities with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in training and research. With a long history of cooperation between the two schools, the re-signing of the MOU in the coming time will create a premise for the exchange of students and lecturers between the two schools in particular and the two countries in general.
At the meeting, representatives of the two units discussed and reached consensus on enhancing cooperation, establishing research groups, and international co-publishing. In particular, during the meeting, Prof. Duong Kien and Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan made initial proposals for cooperation in teaching Chinese and Vietnamese, coordinating the organization of Chinese and Vietnamese translation certification exams at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and at Yunnan Normal University, creating conditions for language exchange, and certifying Chinese and Vietnamese language proficiency with certificates for candidates in need.

It is expected that in October 2023, the two schools will jointly organize a scientific conference in Kunming, China, promising to strongly promote cooperation between the two schools in 2023 and in the coming years.
