At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - a key member of the VNU system. Initially implementing basic science majors, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities later developed more applied majors to meet social needs. Regarding international cooperation, the University has signed cooperation agreements with more than 400 foreign partners. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh hopes that the University will soon sign an official cooperation agreement with Deakin University to promote activities such as student and lecturer exchanges, conducting joint research projects, and co-organizing international conferences.

On behalf of the host country, Prof. Michael James Knopp expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He said that the School of Communication and Creative Arts, Faculty of Arts and Education, Deakin University currently offers a number of related programs such as Bachelor of Communication. The school has modern facilities and resources such as motion capture equipment, digital image editing equipment, film and television production, newsroom, etc. In Vietnam, since 2010, the Faculty of Arts and Education has implemented the 2+2 Bachelor of Communication in Journalism joint program with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM. According to him, in addition to inviting Australian scholars to lecture, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-Hanoi can also build a similar model as above with Deakin University.
