During the meeting, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a leading institution for research and training in social sciences and humanities in Vietnam, under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The university currently has over 10,000 students and 600 staff members. It offers 34 undergraduate programs and 73 postgraduate programs, spanning basic sciences such as Philosophy, History, Literature, and Linguistics, as well as applied sciences such as Management Science, Tourism Studies, Social Work, Journalism, and Public Relations.
In response, Professor Simon Tormey thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its warm welcome. Professor Simon Tormey shared Bristol University's desire to expand cooperation with universities in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He proposed that the two universities promote cooperation in areas such as student and faculty exchange, publishing, scientific research, and international publications.

Founded in 1876 and ranked 51st in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2019, the University of Bristol is globally recognized for providing world-class quality courses. The university currently has approximately 26,000 students from over 120 different countries. It comprises six faculties: the Academy of Arts, the Academy of Engineering, the Academy of Life Sciences, the Academy of Science, the Academy of Health, and the Academy of Social Sciences and Law.
