At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the leading institution for research and training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam, under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The school currently has over 10,000 students and 600 staff. The school offers 34 undergraduate programs and 73 graduate programs; ranging from basic sciences such as Philosophy, History, Literature, Languages... to applied sciences such as Management Science, Tourism Studies, Social Work, Journalism, Public Relations.
In response, Prof. Simon Tormey thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for the warm welcome. Prof. Simon Tormey shared the University of Bristol's desire to expand cooperation with universities in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He proposed that the two universities promote cooperation in the fields of student and lecturer exchanges, cooperation in publishing, scientific research, international publications, etc.
Founded in 1876 and ranked 51st in the world by the QS World University Rankings 2019, the University of Bristol is globally recognised for delivering world-class courses. The university currently has around 26,000 students from over 120 different countries. The university has 6 academies: Academy of Arts, Academy of Engineering, Academy of Life Sciences, Academy of Science, Academy of Health, Academy of Social Sciences and Law.
