At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - the leading institution for research and training in Social Sciences and Humanities in Vietnam, under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The school currently has over 10,000 students and 600 staff. The school offers 34 undergraduate programs and 73 graduate programs; ranging from basic sciences such as Philosophy, History, Literature, Languages... to applied sciences such as Management Science, Tourism Studies, Social Work, Journalism, Public Relations.
In response, Prof. Simon Tormey thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their warm welcome. Prof. Simon Tormey shared the University of Bristol's desire to expand cooperation with universities in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam. He proposed that the two universities promote cooperation in the fields of student and lecturer exchanges, publishing, scientific research, international publications, etc.
Founded in 1876 and ranked 51st in the world by QS World University Rankings 2019, the University of Bristol is globally recognised for providing world-class quality courses. The school currently has around 26,000 students studying from over 120 different countries. The school has 6 academies: Academy of Arts, Academy of Engineering, Academy of Life Sciences, Academy of Science, Academy of Health, Academy of Social Sciences and Law.
