Overview of the seminar
Speaking at the seminar, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan expressed the university's leadership's concern for the development of Information Management in the era of the 4.0 revolution. Accordingly, as society develops, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) increasingly need high-quality information management human resources. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is always at the forefront of training high-quality academic programs, meeting the needs and goals of providing human resources for society and businesses. Therefore, in the coming time, with the support of organizations, especially Bao Ninh Investment Co., Ltd., the university will proceed with building a training program framework for a new major – Information Management – and entrust the Faculty of Information and Library Science to implement the training. This seminar is an important stepping stone for the school to listen to and absorb the opinions of the speakers - experts and leading officials in the field of information and communication - in order to develop training program content that is not only in line with the school's development direction but also meets the recruitment needs of businesses.

The delegates discussed the following main topics: the context and trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam and around the world; research on labor market needs and core competency frameworks for information management skills of information management human resources; and the development of training programs and career orientation for information management human resources.

Mr. Lee Yong Deuk (Deputy Director of VTC Online) opened the discussion with the topic "Context and trends – The Fourth Industrial Revolution in Vietnam and around the world; requirements for 4.0 human resources".
Opinions expressed at the seminar suggested that the essence of the 4.0 technological revolution is based on the integration of digital technologies and all intelligent technologies to optimize processes and production methods. Countries, organizations, and businesses all need a workforce in information management to manage and utilize existing information resources. Effective information management will bring positive impacts to businesses such as: increasing the value of services provided to customers; minimizing operational risks; reducing costs in operations and service provision; and encouraging innovation in internal operations and external service provision.
Researchers also emphasized the fact that many universities around the world have long offered Information Management programs, therefore, opening an Information Management training program in Vietnam is absolutely essential.

Dr. Do Van Hung (Head of the Department of Information and Library Science) presented on "Orientation and Action – Building a training program and defining outputs for information management human resources".
Experts also provided data and research reports on the labor market to help build a core competency framework for personnel in the Information Management field. The training program and career orientation for this field are geared towards high applicability, utilizing theoretical foundations from many other scientific disciplines such as: Sociology, Economics, Business Administration, Management Science, Library and Information Science, Data Science, Political Science, Journalism, and Communication...
The Bachelor of Information Management program at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is developed under a socialized model in collaboration with Bao Ninh Investment Company. The program is expected to be taught in both Vietnamese and English, with 30% of specialized subjects taught directly in English. The curriculum framework, learning outcomes, and admission plan will be proposed by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities to Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the near future.
