Like all other social sciences and humanities, theory is always a basic and indispensable content in the research and application of international relations. The book "Theory of International Relations" edited by Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Khac Nam is an attempt to contribute to filling the gap in international relations theory in our country.
The book has collected and systematized the basic theories as well as the main theories on international relations today. The book includes 9 chapters. In which, Chapter 1 introduces the basic issues of International Relations theory such as concepts, purposes, classification, formation and development process of International Relations theory. The next 8 chapters introduce the theories on International Relations including Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, Marxism (the views on international relations of Marxism-Leninism and Neo-Marxism), Green Politics, Feminism, Critical Theory and Postmodernism.
The book focuses on studying the theoretical and practical foundations and main arguments on international relations of each theory. At the same time, the book also introduces the history of formation and development, different schools as well as evaluates the advantages and limitations of each theory.
