The Trade Union's concluding conference and training session for the 2012-2013 academic year of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities took place on July 27, 2013. The conference heard a report summarizing the work of the 2012-2013 academic year and discussed the main activities for the upcoming academic year.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang (Chairman of the University's Trade Union), in the past academic year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities achieved comprehensive results in all aspects of its activities. The Trade Union had many outstanding activities such as: successfully organizing the singing competition for faculty and students with the theme "Singing about the borderlands and islands of our homeland"; organizing a "Back to the Roots" trip to visit historical sites of the country; organizing a professional seminar on "Trade Unions and the implementation of strategic tasks"; organizing legal dissemination including: the Law on Dissemination of Legal Education, the Law on Higher Education; organizing feedback on the Draft Amendment to the 1992 Constitution; visiting and giving gifts to two centers for war invalids in Nho Quan, Ninh Binh and Liem Can, Ha Nam; coordinating with the trade union of a cluster of 5 universities to organize gift giving for 600 students and teachers in Bac Kan province with difficult circumstances; mobilizing donations to support the people and soldiers of Truong Sa island district; We are campaigning to establish a Humanitarian Fund to support and assist union members in difficult circumstances…
During the 2013-2014 academic year, the School's Trade Union focused on the following three key areas of work:
- Continue to support the movement for fundamental and comprehensive reform of higher education towards standardization, modernization, socialization, democratization, and international integration.
- Promote the implementation of workplace culture regulations.
- In response to phase 2 of the campaign to study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.
With outstanding achievements in the past academic year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was awarded the Excellent Emulation Flag by the Vietnam Education Trade Union. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the University's Trade Union – received a certificate of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
In addition, 2 collectives and 2 individuals received commendations from the Vietnam Education Trade Union; 5 collectives and 42 individuals received commendations from the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Trade Union; and 6 collectives and 50 individuals received commendations from the University's Trade Union.
