Summary of summer volunteer activities in Hoan Kiem district.

On the evening of August 6th, at the meeting hall of the Ly Thai To Ward People's Committee (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi), the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward, held a ceremony to summarize the 2010 summer volunteer activities.
On the evening of August 6th, at the meeting hall of the Ly Thai To Ward People's Committee (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi), the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward, held a ceremony to summarize the 2010 summer volunteer activities.Attending the closing ceremony were representatives from the local government, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and a large number of student volunteers and Youth Union members from Ly Thai To Ward. At the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Thi Nhung – Team Leader of the Student Volunteer Team – read a report summarizing the summer volunteer activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Student Volunteer Team in Ly Thai To Ward. The report highlighted the achievements after 18 days of volunteering (from July 19th to August 5th, 2010). In addition, the report also pointed out the difficulties and limitations faced by the team during their volunteer work in the locality. Speaking at the closing ceremony, Comrade Quan Truong Giang - Secretary of the Youth Union of Ly Thai To Ward - acknowledged the achievements of the Student Volunteer Team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. He also pledged continued support and assistance to the team in their volunteer program during the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi at Ngoc Son Temple (to be held from October 1st to October 10th, 2010). Along with outstanding cultural performances from various units, the closing ceremony of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' summer volunteer program in Ly Thai To Ward was a great success.

Results of the summer volunteer program

The 2010 summer volunteer program in Ly Thai To Ward, organized by students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, lasted 18 days and involved 37 students from 5 faculties (Oriental Studies, International Studies, History, Tourism Studies, and Linguistics). The volunteer team's activities took place at Ngoc Son Temple and the Ly Thai To Monument, both famous tourist attractions in Hanoi. With the aim of promoting Thang Long culture and introducing the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, the volunteer team successfully guided 546 tourists, including 225 domestic and 321 international visitors, during their 18-day volunteer program.
