On August 12, 2010, the official session of the 4th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the term 2010-2015, took place with the participation of 293 delegates representing 25 affiliated Party organizations.
On August 12, 2010, the official session of the 4th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, for the term 2010-2015, took place with the participation of 293 delegates representing 25 affiliated Party organizations.The 4th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) focused on the following main contents and tasks: reviewing the implementation of goals and tasks, drawing lessons from the leadership and guidance of the Party Committee and Party organization during the 2005-2010 term; deciding on the goals, targets, and tasks of the Party organization and solutions for implementation from now until 2015; discussing and contributing opinions to the draft documents to be submitted to the 15th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee and the 11th National Congress of the Party; electing the Executive Committee of the VNU Party Committee for the 4th term, 2010-2015; and electing delegates to attend the 15th Congress of the Hanoi City Party Committee. In his opening remarks at the Congress, Comrade Mai Trong Nhuan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - emphasized: “The 4th Congress of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, upholds the spirit of democracy, unity, and creativity, demonstrating the will and high determination of the entire Party Committee, striving to leverage the combined strength and all resources to develop Vietnam National University, Hanoi into a multidisciplinary, multi-field research university center among the world's leading universities, making important contributions to the development of the country's knowledge economy, successfully fulfilling the glorious mission entrusted by the Party and State: training high-quality, highly skilled human resources, nurturing talents based on creativity, scientific research, and cutting-edge technological development, playing a core and leading role in innovation in the Vietnamese higher education system.” After Comrade Pham Trong Quat – Secretary of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi – on behalf of the Executive Committee of the 3rd term presented the Political Report with the theme “Leveraging all resources, proactively striving to reach international standards, fulfilling a glorious mission,” the congress heard many opinions and discussions. Among them, the representative of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, delegate Nguyen Kim Son – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the university – presented a paper on “Four years of transforming training methods at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: lessons learned, opportunities and challenges.” The congress unanimously nominated 41 delegates to run for election, and delegates voted to elect 33 comrades to the Executive Committee of the 4th term. Three delegates from the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were elected to the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 4th term: Comrades Nguyen Van Khanh, Nguyen Kim Son, and Nguyen Thi Kim Hoa. Comrade Nguyen Van Khanh received the highest number of votes among the elected delegates. On August 13th, the Congress continued its work, discussing important issues, and announcing the results of the first session of the new Party Committee and electing delegates to attend the 15th City Party Congress.
