Gratitude to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang

The ceremony to present the pension book to the teacher was attended by the Party Committee, the School Board of Directors, representatives of the School Union, representatives of the faculties: Faculty of History, Faculty of Management Science, representatives of the Association of Former Teachers of Hanoi National University and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

On the side of the agencies outside the school, there were guests: Dr. Le Ba Trinh (Member of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front), Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Chi Mi (former Standing Committee member, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 13), Mr. Vu Huy Luat (former Standing Committee member, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, term 13), Ms. Nguyen Thi Nha (Head of the Emulation and Reward Committee of Hanoi City), Ms. Do Thi Xuan Phuong (former Deputy General Director of Vietnam Social Security).

Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) presented the retirement book to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang and expressed gratitude for his contributions to the development of the University.

Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang graduated from the University of Archives and History at Moscow University (Russian Federation) in 1976 and received a PhD in Historical Materials from Moscow University in 1988. During her 40 years of work, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang held many important leadership and management positions such as: Deputy Head of the Faculty of History (1978-1995); Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (1995-2001); Party Secretary, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (2001-2006); Head of the Propaganda Department of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi Fatherland Front Committee (2005-2010); Vice Chairman of the Central Front Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front (2014-2019); Head of the Faculty of Management Sciences; Head of the Department of Social Management, Faculty of Management Sciences (2010-present).

Expressing gratitude for the contributions of Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang to the research and training career of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University) said: Mr. Pham Xuan Hang is a typical example of a scientist and manager who rose from life following the motto of Learning - Asking - Understanding - Doing. He has made many contributions to the construction and development of the University and is an example for many generations of colleagues and students thanks to his strong spirit and will in work and life. In each position, he always has a high spirit of criticism and is always concerned with the development of the University, of society and of the country.

Chairman of the Association of Former Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Prof. Dr. Vu Duong Ninh said: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang is a typical representative of the school's leadership team - enthusiastic, responsible in work and always sincere and affectionate with staff, colleagues and students. He always receives respect and love from everyone around him.

Representative of the Faculty of Management Science - Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Hai - shared: Mr. Hang was the first Head of the Faculty of Management Science since 2002 and he left his mark in many steps of development of the Faculty, especially laying the foundation for building the major of Intellectual Property.

Thanking the affection of colleagues and friends for him, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Xuan Hang said: I am fortunate to work and contribute to the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and pursue research and teaching for the past 40 years. It is the experiences in many positions, meeting and learning from many talented people, participating in building and developing new majors in the University... that have made me more and more mature and profound in my thinking and perception of life. Those experiences have created great meaning in my life. Although I have been retired according to State regulations, I will continue to research, teach, and write books to reflect on the past, as well as contribute to the future development of the University.
