To commemorate the 65th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2012), on July 26, 2012, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union and the Veterans Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) organized a visit and presented gifts to the Center for the Care of Severely Injured and Sick Soldiers in Liem Can Commune (Thanh Liem District - Ha Nam Province) and the Center for the Rehabilitation of Severely Injured and Sick Soldiers in Nho Quan District (Ninh Binh Province). This is a deeply meaningful humanitarian activity that the University organizes annually to express gratitude for the contributions and sacrifices of war invalids and sick soldiers.

But overcoming loss and suffering, with extraordinary willpower, many wounded and disabled veterans have continued to work, finding happiness for themselves and making effective contributions to the community and society. They – shining examples of the indomitable qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, with the spirit of "disabled but not defeated" – have written new heroic epics in peacetime.
