Following the opening ceremony, the volunteer soldiers simultaneously launched various activities: cleaning flowerbeds and benches, whitewashing tree trunks, and donating blood. By the end of the morning, after summarizing the whitewashing and cleaning activities, more than 115 certificates had been awarded. The blood donation activity lasted all day, with 46 volunteers assisting the medical team. Students from the university donated 159 units of blood to save lives.
The other two activities also took place very actively in the afternoon. The team removing the tape from the blackboards, with 100 volunteers, cleaned 32 lecture halls. Another 78 volunteers were assigned to put up "For a Green Humanities" decals on 66 classrooms and 17 restrooms.
This "Green Humanism" campaign is not just a movement for the school's youth; beyond that, the organizers want each individual to raise awareness and take more practical actions in protecting the environment.
"The program aims to raise students' awareness of maintaining the school's overall landscape, creating a clean and beautiful educational environment; and to promote a positive image of the school's students through meaningful, practical, and relatable charitable activities. The event also aims to develop these volunteer activities into regular events, creating a "Green Saturday" volunteer model.Comrade Nguyen Mai Lan - President of the Student Union of the University shared.
