Why did I choose the Humanities?

* Nguyen Thi Van Anh (K56, Faculty of Tourism Studies): “Additional enrollment for khối A - c”New opportunities for science enthusiasts.society

I've always loved social sciences, but because I was preparing for the science-based entrance exam (Group A), I thought I wouldn't have the chance to study at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – a prestigious and long-established university. When I learned that the university had started admitting students from Group A since 2009, I was thrilled and determined to pass the exam.

Having been accustomed to the science-based learning style, I'm now very interested and curious about the university environment with its predominantly social science subjects. I wish I could study many more subjects at the university after graduation. The way the professors convey knowledge is so fresh and engaging, so different from how I learned in high school. I feel very proud to be a student of this university.

*Nguyen Tuan (K56 Faculty of Information - Th)(hospital): "Only one love for the Shock Troopers"

My love for youth activities has kept me involved and volunteering with the Youth Shock Team for almost three years now. Many competitive movements and volunteer programs to help disadvantaged areas or assist students during exam seasons have made my student life truly meaningful. Participating in the Youth Shock Team has given me confidence in communication, discipline in work, flexibility in dealing with people, and the ability to adapt to unexpected changes in life. The working environment within the Youth Union and Student Association is quite dynamic and highly effective. The learning environment is serious yet friendly, with highly qualified and enthusiastic teachers who share many interesting life experiences with students.

* Do Thi Dung (K56, Faculty of Journalism and Communication): “We were able to participate in scientific research from a very early age.”

I want to do scientific research to delve deeper into the issues I'm interested in. Not only that, I also get to read a lot of related materials from newspapers and legal documents. I get to work in groups responsibly, and the professors guide me on the skills needed to write a better thesis next year. I wanted to do research since my second year, but I didn't have the necessary skills then, so I only started in my third year.

Scientific research has also given me a lot of experience, especially related to data encoding. For example, creating data surveys helped me formulate in-depth questions and learn how to conduct surveys in newspapers in the most detailed way. I knew before applying to the university that it is one of the largest social science research universities in the country, a cradle for training high-quality researchers. Because I love research, I decided to apply here, and it has truly been the best choice I've made so far.

Thanks to my research, I gained a deeper understanding of journalism, especially online journalism, learned how to work more effectively in teams, and how to analyze data and create systematic tables.

* Lan Anh (K57, Faculty of Literature): “Phnew teaching methods and them"It really makes you addicted."

To be honest, I'm addicted to the teaching methods of some of the professors because they are so interesting and innovative. When I first entered the university, I was very bewildered because I came from a distant province to study, and I imagined that the knowledge and teaching methods at university would be very difficult and it would take a long time to adapt.

The enthusiastic guidance, the open-ended approach, and the way the lessons were structured truly captivated us. I was very interested in learning at school and even looked forward to class. Last semester, I achieved excellent results. I hope the teachers will create even more innovative teaching methods so that we can have more ways to approach problems and absorb their guidance more actively and effectively.
