This morning, April 5th, 2016, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi) met with Assoc. Prof. Olivier Tessier – Director of the French School of Far Eastern Studies (EFEO) in Ho Chi Minh City – regarding the publication of the trilingual epic poem Luc Van Tien. Representatives from the Cooperation and Development Office also attended the meeting.

The epic poem Luc Van Tien will have a new look.

First, Associate Professor Olivier Tessier expressed his sincere gratitude to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for their unwavering support in the publication of the book. He stated that the work will be translated into three languages: Vietnamese, French, and English.

According to Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh, the book's publication is a significant cultural event. The Rector and Associate Professor Olivier Tessier believe that, with its quality, meticulous detail, and especially its illustrations (paintings), the book will bring a unique and fresh perspective, elevating the epic poem Luc Van Tien. Beyond its literary value, Luc Van Tien will now be viewed from a new perspective and image: as a work of art.

Associate Professor Olivier Tessier announced that the book will be launched in Ho Chi Minh City on May 30, 2016, and in Hanoi on June 1, 2016. Associate Professor Olivier was also invited by the Rector to write an introductory article about the upcoming book, *Luc Van Tien*. The article is expected to be published in the August issue of the Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities this year.Associate Professor Pham Quang Minh also proposed organizing a book launch event at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities around the beginning of September this year.

Associate Professor Olivier Tessier is the Director of the French School of Far Eastern Studies in Ho Chi Minh City. He has a deep understanding of Vietnam and has made many contributions to the study of Vietnamese history, culture, and society, including a collection of ancient photographs and maps of Hanoi. The collection tells the story of a special transitional period in Hanoi's urban life during the 19th and 20th centuries.
