28th Conference of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union Cluster of 5 Universities in the Hanoi Area

Attending the Conference were representatives from the Party Committees and Boards of Directors of 5 universities: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hoang Luong - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Technology; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the National Economics University; Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia - Vice Rector, Member of the Party Committee of the University of Natural Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Construction; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Construction, along with 33 delegates from the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, Women's Committee and Trade Union Office of the Cluster of 5 universities.

The introductory report by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang – Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, is titled...Strengthening coordination between the School Board and the Trade Union Executive Committee for the sustainable development of the school.already mentionedRegulations on the working relationship between the Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2007),Regulations on coordination of work between the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union (2013)and consider this as the basis for universities to research and develop regulations to suit the specific situation of each institution. The presentations by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Quy (University of Natural Sciences), and MSc. Architect Tran Quy Duong (Hanoi University of Civil Engineering) presented a detailed and comprehensive overview of the issue of developing and implementing regulations on coordinating work between the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the University's Trade Union in the context of higher education reform. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hoai (National Economics University) addressed a more specific issue: democracy in universities..The conference also heard a presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang on the topic "The trade union collaborates with the government in the strategy to build a research university."This is one of the pressing issues aimed at rapidly developing the school and integrating it with leading universities in the region and the world."

At the conference, representatives from the five schools delivered speeches and affirmed that this was an opportunity for the schools to share experiences in coordinating work between the Trade Union Executive Committee and the School Board, contributing significantly to creating synergy, mutual interaction, and support to achieve the best results in fulfilling the schools' political tasks. Following this conference, the school trade union leaders will learn from experience and conduct research to develop, supplement, and implement a more effective coordination regulation between the Trade Union Executive Committee and the School Board in school activities. Furthermore, the Trade Union Executive Committee and the School Board will continue to research and develop a regulation on implementing democracy in school activities to meet the educational reform requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training and higher-level trade unions.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, on behalf of the Presidium, summarized the Conference and thanked the representatives of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the five universities for attending the seminar and giving guiding remarks, as well as for supporting the activities of the trade union in the past, helping the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to fulfill its nhiệm vụ as the host. At the end of the Conference, the representative of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities respectfully transferred the hosting rights for the Cluster's activities in the 2016-2017 academic year and the 29th Conference of the Standing Committees of the five universities to the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Natural Sciences.

Also on the occasion of the 28th Conference, a delegation of trade union officials from 5 universities visited, interacted with, and exchanged experiences with the Trade Union of Hue University of Science on the afternoon of April 8, 2016.
