The 28th Standing Conference of the Trade Union Cluster of 5 Universities in Hanoi

Attending the Conference were representatives of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of 5 Universities: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khang - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hoang Luong - Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa - Member of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the National Economics University, Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia - Vice Rector, Member of the Party Committee of the University of Natural Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Hoa - Party Committee, Rector of the University of Construction and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Construction, along with the presence of 33 delegates who are comrades in the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, Women's Union and Trade Union Office of the 5 University Cluster.

Introduction report by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities with the titleStrengthening coordination between the Board of Directors and the Executive Board of the Trade Union for the sustainable development of the SchoolmentionedRegulations on working relationship between the Government and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (2007),Regulations on coordination between the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnam Education Trade Union (2013)and consider it as a basis for universities to research and develop regulations suitable to the specific situation of each school. The presentations of Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung (Hanoi University of Science and Technology), Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Van Quy (University of Natural Sciences) and Master, Architect, Dr. Tran Quy Duong (University of Construction) presented in a specific and rich manner the issue of developing and implementing regulations on coordination of work between the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Trade Union of schools in the context of innovation in higher education. Dr. Tran Thi Thu Hoai (National Economics University) mentioned a more specific issue: the issue of democracy in universities..The conference also heard a presentation by Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang on the topic "Unions cooperate with government in strategy to build research universities" is one of the urgent issues to quickly develop the school and integrate with the group of advanced universities in the region and the world.

At the Conference, representatives of the 5 school leaders spoke and affirmed: this is an opportunity for the schools to share experiences in coordinating work between the Executive Board of the Trade Union and the Board of Directors to contribute significantly to creating a combined strength, mutual interaction, and mutual support to achieve the best results for the implementation of the political tasks of the School. After this conference, the leaders of the trade unions of the schools will draw lessons, conduct research to develop or supplement, and specifically implement the Regulations on coordination between the Executive Board of the Trade Union and the Board of Directors in the school's activities more effectively. In addition, the Executive Board of the Trade Union and the Board of Directors of the schools will continue to research and develop the Regulations on implementing democracy in the school's activities to meet the cause of educational innovation according to the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Training and the higher-level trade unions.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, on behalf of the Presidium, summarized the Conference and thanked the representatives of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the 5 schools for attending the discussion and giving their opinions and directions as well as supporting the activities of the trade union in the past time, helping the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to fulfill its mission as the host. At the end of the Conference, the representative of the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities respectfully transferred the right to host the activities of the Cluster in the 2016-2017 school year and the 29th Conference of the Standing Committee of the 5 Schools to the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of the University of Natural Sciences.

Also on the occasion of the 28th Conference, the delegation of union officials from 5 schools visited, exchanged and shared experiences with the Union of Hue University of Sciences on the afternoon of April 8, 2016.
