159 outstanding young people at the grassroots level were honored in 2016.

On December 13, 2016, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor 159 outstanding young people of the University for the past academic year. These are students, graduate students, doctoral candidates, and young staff members who have achieved success in their studies and research, and have made positive contributions to collective activities and social work.

At the awards ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department) reviewed the achievements of students, trainees, and young staff of the University in general, and outstanding young people at the grassroots level in particular, during the 2015-2016 academic year.

The 2015-2016 academic year was a year in which the university continued to promote and improve the effectiveness of undergraduate and postgraduate training. The percentage of full-time students graduating with excellent grades was 1.54%, good grades 33.63%, fair grades 63.69%, and average grades 1.71%.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Rector of the University, delivered a speech congratulating the outstanding young people of 2016.

Many students have strived in their studies and work, achieving high results such as Nguyen Thi Tam, K58, Faculty of Management Science, with a GPA of 3.90; Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh, K58, Faculty of Information and Library Science, with a GPA of 3.89; Dang Thi Hoa, K58, Faculty of Literature, with a GPA of 3.88; Dang Trung Anh, K58, Faculty of Management Science, with a GPA of 3.87...

Based on the achievements attained, in the 2015-2016 academic year, the Principal of the school awarded certificates of merit to 81 students with excellent and good academic results; 82 students who were class officers, youth union officers, and association officers with achievements in their studies and work; and 62 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who excelled in their studies.

Student scientific research activities are closely linked to academic activities and have achieved good results. In the 2015-2016 academic year, 991 students (16.7%) participated in scientific research with 780 scientific reports. Among these, 5 projects won the "Student Scientific Research Award of Vietnam National University, Hanoi". The conference for young faculty and postgraduate students was successfully organized with 82 scientific reports.

In addition, 956 students received academic scholarships and social welfare grants, and 288 students received scholarships sponsored by domestic and international organizations, with a total funding of approximately 505 million VND and 45,000 USD.

For young faculty members, most teachers simultaneously hold multiple positions, encompassing both professional and organizational/administrative responsibilities. However, these young faculty members have achieved remarkable accomplishments in both teaching and research. This is reflected in the quantity and quality of lectures, research projects, and scientific articles published in domestic and international scientific journals.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) praised the achievements of outstanding young people, affirming that the overall achievements of the University are significantly contributed by these exemplary individuals. These individuals are role models who have a widespread influence and promote teaching, learning, and research activities in a more positive direction.

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) presented certificates to outstanding young people. Among the 159 outstanding young people of the University, 16 were honored as outstanding young people of Hanoi National University in 2016.
