Honoring 159 outstanding young faces at the grassroots level in 2016

On December 13, 2016, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to honor 159 outstanding young faces of the University in the past school year. These are students, graduate students, researchers and young staff with achievements in study and research activities, and positive contributions to collective activities and social work.

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs) reviewed the achievements that students, trainees and young staff of the School in general, and outstanding young faces at the grassroots level in particular, had achieved in the 2015-2016 school year.

The 2015-2016 school year is the year in which the School continues to promote and improve the effectiveness of university and graduate training. The number of full-time students graduating with honors accounts for 1.54%, with excellent grades accounts for 33.63%, with good grades accounts for 63.69%, and with average grades accounts for 1.71%.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan, Vice Principal of the School, delivered a congratulatory speech to the outstanding young faces of 2016.

Many students have made efforts in studying and working, achieving many high achievements such as Nguyen Thi Tam, K58, Faculty of Management Science, achieved 3.90 points; Nguyen Thi Quynh Anh, K58, Faculty of Library Information, achieved 3.89 points; Dang Thi Hoa, K58, Literature, achieved 3.88 points; Dang Trung Anh, K58, Faculty of Management Science, achieved 3.87 points...

With the achievements, in the 2015-2016 school year, the School Principal awarded certificates of merit to 81 students with excellent and good academic results; 82 students who are class officers, union and association officers with achievements in study and work; 62 students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well.

Scientific research activities of students are closely linked with learning activities and have achieved good results. In the 2015-2016 school year, 991 students (accounting for 16.7%) participated in scientific research with 780 scientific reports. Of which, 05 projects won the "VNU Student Scientific Research Award". Successfully organized a scientific conference for young staff and postgraduate students with 82 scientific reports.

In addition, 956 students received scholarships to encourage learning and social assistance, 288 students received scholarships sponsored by domestic and foreign organizations with a total cost of about 505 million and 45,000 USD.

For young cadres, most of them hold multiple jobs at the same time, both professional and union and government. However, young cadres have achieved remarkable achievements in both teaching and research. This is reflected in the quantity and quality of lectures, scientific research topics, and scientific articles in domestic and international scientific journals.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) praised the achievements of the outstanding young faces, affirming that in the overall achievements of the University, there are important contributions of outstanding young individuals. These are typical factors, with the power to spread influence and promote teaching, learning and research activities in a more positive direction.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities) awarded certificates to outstanding young faces. Among the 159 outstanding young faces of the University, 16 were awarded as young faces of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi in 2016.
