On the morning of November 2nd, 2011, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector of the University) along with the leaders of the Faculty of Tourism Studies and the Department of Anthropology held a meeting and working session with representatives from Indiana University – Purdue, Indianapolis (UIPUI), USA: Professor Sotiris Hji-Avgoustis - Head of the Department of Tourism Management and Professor Ian McIntosh - Director of the International Cooperation Department.
On the morning of November 2nd, 2011, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu (Vice Rector of the University) along with the leaders of the Faculty of Tourism Studies and the Department of Anthropology held a meeting and working session with representatives from Indiana University – Purdue, Indianapolis (UIPUI), USA: Professor Sotiris Hji-Avgoustis - Head of the Department of Tourism Management and Professor Ian McIntosh - Director of the International Cooperation Department.During the meeting, the leaders of the two universities discussed opportunities for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest: tourism studies, anthropology, archaeology, linguistics, sociology, etc. Both sides agreed and expressed their desire to soon jointly implement programs for exchanging experts, lecturers, and students, and to conduct joint scientific research. Indiana University – Purdue, Indianapolis, was established in 1969 through the merger of Indiana University and Purdue University. The university currently has nearly 30,000 students, with international students from 122 different countries around the world. UIPUI offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees and approximately 200 programs in fields such as linguistics, sociology, anthropology, journalism, tourism, law, arts, medicine, and computer science.
