On the morning of October 22, 2011, the "Green Tour" 2011 journey stopped at the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace Relic Site - Hanoi Capital.“Green tour” is a volunteer journey through tourist attractions organized by the Faculty of Tourism (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) in collaboration with the Youth Union of the Presidential Palace Relic Site under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is an annual activity of the Faculty of Tourism to promote the movement of “Volunteering to build and protect the Fatherland” among all members of the Faculty. At the same time, it raises awareness, forms a sense of self-awareness to protect the clean and green environment, civilized lifestyle, and quality of community life, contributing to building a green - clean - beautiful, civilized and friendly Vietnam. The program includes 3 main activities: “Journey to call for environmental protection”, “Environmental activities in the Presidential Palace Relic Site”, and “Vote for Ha Long Bay”. At exactly 7:00 a.m., the volunteer team departed from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to the Relic Site, following the route Nguyen Trai - Tay Son - Nguyen Luong Bang - Ton Duc Thang - Chu Van An - Le Hong Phong - Ngoc Ha. At the Relic Site, the volunteers cleaned up the following areas: fruit garden, flower garden, mango street, and Uncle Ho's fish pond.

As a result, 210 messages were sent and 518 votes were cast correctly. Pham Van Quynh (K55 Tourism) shared: “After this morning, I feel very happy and comfortable. I have seen the spirit of everyone in the team, Vietnamese citizens and international friends for the beauty of Ha Long Bay. The team members worked very actively today. Everyone feels satisfied”. Le Thi Nhien (K55 Tourism) confided: “With this activity, I feel like I have contributed something to environmental protection. Especially in the development of sustainable tourism. The cooperation with the Youth Union of the Presidential Palace Relic Site is a small success for us. Hopefully, after this program, there will be more programs on environmental protection in coordination between the Faculty of Tourism and other organizations”.

Evaluating the program, Ms. Mai Le Huyen - Secretary of the Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace said: “The students were very active in today's activities. There were students who had not had breakfast but still worked very enthusiastically, with a very collective and positive spirit. This is truly a meaningful activity of the students of the Faculty of Tourism - University of Social Sciences and Humanities. I hope that the University will have more activities in coordination with the Youth Union of the Relic Site so that we can have more meaningful activities”. "Green Tour" is an activity of great significance in protecting the environment, as well as helping the beauty of Vietnam to be known to the world.
