The studious and amiable student Hoang Quynh conveys the message, "Work in silence so that success becomes your voice," and encourages setting goals and pursuing your own dreams.
A turbulent childhood
My name is Le Hoang Quynh, born in 2002 in Hanoi. When I was in sixth grade, my parents decided to divorce. My father had to go to a rehabilitation center, so I didn't see him for almost ten years until 2020. My relationship with my mother wasn't good, so we haven't been in contact for several years now.
During my teenage years, I had to learn to be independent, to build my own moral, emotional, and cognitive foundation—things that a typical child would have nurtured by their parents. Lacking the care, financial, and emotional support of my parents, I believe I had to mature much earlier than my peers.
During the sensitive period of adolescence, I was constantly teased, joked with, and even discriminated against and bullied because of my appearance and sexual orientation by my classmates. For a long time, I suffered deep emotional trauma, always feeling lonely, disgusted with myself and everything around me.
Of all the things I've learned on my own, the biggest is probably learning to accept my circumstances, to accept what happens to me, and learning to encourage myself by thinking, "It's okay, I still have myself, and I will build my own life."
During those difficult times, two major sources of motivation guided me forward. First, for myself, for a boy who had been abandoned, isolated, and suffered both physically and mentally. I didn't want those pains to be in vain, but wanted to use them to remind myself, just like the saying, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
Secondly, it's because of my grandmother. She loved me so much and protected me when I was little. When we took our kindergarten class photos, we were photographed against a plain background and then had graduation gowns, caps, and a red diploma added to the picture. When she saw the photo, she said, "I really want you to graduate from university."

I promised my grandmother I would graduate from university, and she promised to live to see that day. But that terrible cancer took her away while I was studying for my high school graduation exams. Whenever I feel defeated or lost, I tell myself, "I must strive to graduate from university, so that my grandmother will be happy and proud."

Learning to grow up on my own has made me seem more mature than my peers. But deep down, I'm still a child, still longing for the feeling of being accepted and belonging somewhere. I lacked those things from family and friends in the past, until I got accepted into the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, where I felt like this was HOME.
Here I have the professors and lecturers from the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, my classmates from the K65 Office Management class, and the seniors and friends from the clubs I participate in. This is an open environment where I can affirm and develop myself, and where I can have a good laugh.

One of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences from my student days was my summer military training in 2022 at the National Defense Education Center of Hanoi University in Hoa Lac, affectionately known as Hola. Although it only lasted 10 days, those 10 days are something I will never forget.

It was when I practiced folding blankets until I was sweating so I wouldn't get punished, when I ate really fast to be able to take a photo with my friend before the sun set over the lawn, when all the students in the building sang "Lantern Procession in August" to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the Gala on the last night with its heroic and emotional performances.

Currently, I'm juggling studying, scientific research, youth union activities, clubs, extracurricular activities, and a part-time job. To balance all these activities with personal time and time for loved ones, I always create short-term daily plans: doing one thing in the morning, doing another in the afternoon…
Sometimes I write notes on my phone, other times I memorize things in my head. By the end of the day, I usually complete most of my tasks. I think the key to time management in particular, and life balance in general, is health.
Maintain good health and a positive mindset. On one hand, learn to love being busy and enjoy the feeling of being occupied; then you will find joy in every task you do. On the other hand, know when to slow down and allow yourself to relax before returning to the work routine.
I'd like to introduce you to the Office Management major. This is a field that I feel is perfectly suited to me. Perhaps it stems from the fact that I've always had to be in control of my own life, so I've inadvertently equipped myself with the necessary management skills such as time management, crisis management, goal setting, and decision-making.
The Office Management program is very interesting and beneficial, along with many exciting activities and movements for students. I believe I will become a talented manager, and studying at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is the first step on that journey.

This year, my first goal is to achieve the "Outstanding Student" title at the city level. I will need to strive comprehensively in five different criteria: academics, character development, physical fitness, volunteer activities, and integration. My second goal is to raise my GPA to 3.6/4.0 so that I can graduate with honors. I have unwavering faith that I will achieve these goals in the near future!
