Le Nguyen Cam Ly is currently a second-year student majoring in Journalism at the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She currently holds the position of Vice President of the University's Student Union and Deputy Secretary and Head of the Student Union Branch of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training. As a student union officer, Cam Ly has organized and participated in many meaningful activities for the community. Each journey has brought memorable experiences, Ly shared: “Student union activities have given me valuable experience and insights. I’ve had the opportunity to try my hand at many different areas of work and discover new abilities within myself. Currently, I’m primarily in charge of student union affairs, an area I previously thought I wouldn’t be suited for. However, since taking on this role, everything has gone quite well, and I’ve also honed my meticulousness and patience.”

 

Through participating in Youth Union and Student Association activities, Cam Ly had the opportunity to interact and expand her network with those around her. She found many like-minded friends with similar ideals. During her nearly two years of studying and training at USSH, Cam Ly achieved many outstanding accomplishments, including: a Certificate of Merit for achieving the highest academic results at the university level in the 2021-2022 academic year; Second Prize in the Institute-level student scientific research competition in the 2022-2023 academic year; Third Prize in the University-level student scientific research competition in the 2022-2023 academic year; a Certificate of Merit from the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Student Association of Hanoi City for "Outstanding achievements in implementing the '5 Good Students' movement in the 2018-2023 period"; and the title of "5 Good Students" at the university level in the 2021-2022 academic year. Awarded the title of "Excellent Student" at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi level for the 2021-2022 academic year; awarded the title of "Excellent Student" at the City level for the 2021-2022 academic year; received an individual commendation for outstanding achievements in student union activities and student movements in the 2021-2022 academic year from the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities; received a certificate of merit from the Student Union of the Institute of Training and Communication for positive contributions to student union activities and student movements in the 2021-2022 academic year; achieved an IELTS score of 7.0;…

A scientific approach to learning is the key to unlocking the door to success.

“As a Youth Union and Student Association officer, I want to be a role model in my studies, not just in extracurricular activities. I always strive to contribute to the collective activities while simultaneously cultivating and acquiring knowledge and skills for myself. For me, studying is always the most important thing, so I'm trying to manage my time effectively so that participating in Youth Union and Student Association activities doesn't affect my academic performance. Especially during peak exam periods, I will temporarily put aside some other tasks to focus entirely on studying,” Cam Ly said.

Besides managing her time effectively, Cam Ly also has her own study methods. She revealed: “In addition to attending lectures in class, I will go home and review all the material from the beginning to ensure I grasp the knowledge thoroughly. I usually set different goals for each stage. During the process, if I feel I can achieve more, I will strive harder, but I never let myself become overly obsessed or stressed about achieving it. I always try my best so that I won't regret anything in the future. I want to clearly outline everything, have an orderly life, and continuously learn.” It is known that she is striving to join the Communist Party of Vietnam. This is also Ly's biggest wish during her student years.

Live life to the fullest in your youth and have aspirations to succeed.

In a person's life journey, youth is the most beautiful and vibrant period. Cam Ly is also one of those young people with ambitions and aspirations to contribute to society. She shared: "For me, because I'm young, my goals and purpose in life will constantly change over time, but I hope that all of us know how to exploit and utilize our own values, not wasting a single precious moment of this short youth to benefit ourselves and others. Let's cultivate love for our country and passion for our chosen goals. That is the spiritual strength to overcome difficulties and challenges, and then prepare ourselves with knowledge and skills. Because only with those things can we contribute and achieve success. Let's maximize our abilities, work with dedication, responsibility, intelligence, and youthful energy to overcome all difficulties and rise to affirm ourselves. Let's choose to sacrifice personal interests, participate in activities for the community, choose a good way of life, and choose a life ideal with noble goals."
