During the visit, the group of students listened to officials from the Information Department of the National Assembly Office introduce the glorious history of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
At the Dien Hong Hall, students were introduced to the plenary sessions of the National Assembly, which take place twice a year, as well as the organizational structure, functions, and duties of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Office. During the visit, students also toured the meeting room where the Standing Committee of the National Assembly holds its meetings and where the Speaker of the National Assembly receives domestic and international delegations.
The students also visited the National Assembly's Traditional Hall. The group received a detailed introduction from the tour guide to all the exhibits displayed there, such as: a model of the National Assembly building, the Speakers of the National Assembly throughout their terms, historical documents issued by the National Assembly, and notable activities of the National Assembly throughout history.
At the end of the tour, the group of students returned to the National Assembly Office headquarters to attend a training session as part of the Youth Parliament project.
The project, which focuses on educating young people about the National Assembly, was launched in 2014 with technical support from the British Embassy and the British Council in Vietnam. The aim of the project is to raise awareness among young people about participating in political activities by equipping students with knowledge of the organization and workings of the Vietnamese National Assembly, and creating a forum for young people to express their opinions and suggestions when acting as National Assembly representatives.
