During the tour, the group of students listened to the staff of the Information Department, Office of the National Assembly introduce the glorious history of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
At Dien Hong Hall, students were introduced to the plenary sessions of the National Assembly which take place twice a year, the organizational structure, functions and tasks of the National Assembly and the National Assembly Office. During the tour, students also visited the meeting room where the meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee take place and where the National Assembly Chairman receives domestic and international delegations.
Students also visited the National Assembly Traditional Room. The tour guide introduced in detail all the artifacts displayed here such as: Model of the National Assembly Building, National Assembly Presidents through their terms, historical documents issued by the National Assembly and outstanding activities of the National Assembly throughout history.
At the end of the tour, the group of students returned to the National Assembly Office to attend a training session within the framework of the Young National Assembly project.
The National Assembly Education Program for the Young Generation was launched in 2014, with technical support from the British Embassy and the British Council in Vietnam. The project aims to raise awareness of political participation among the younger generation by equipping students with knowledge about the organization and operation of the Vietnamese National Assembly, and creating a forum for young people to express their opinions and suggestions when playing the role of National Assembly deputies.

Main activities of the Project 1) Training on knowledge and skills for students (from September 23-30, 2015). The core group of students will be trained in the necessary knowledge and skills to participate in the role of "Young National Assembly Delegates". 2) Organizing a study tour to the British Parliament (from November 28 to December 6, 2015) After the training process, 04 excellent students will be selected to join the Delegation organized by the Office of the National Assembly to visit and learn from the British Parliament (each school selects 01 student). 5) Organize a plenary session of the Young National Assembly (around mid-December 2015) The session will be modeled after a plenary session of the National Assembly, with the participation of young National Assembly members of the 13th tenure, representatives of several Committees, Departments and units in the National Assembly Office. At this session, the Core Student Group will play the role of National Assembly members of the “Young National Assembly” to discuss a policy issue of interest to young people. |
