Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of the 358th AUN-QA Assessment Team, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Rohaida Mohd. Saat, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia, Head of the Assessment team and assessor of 04 training programs of 2 universities.
On the side of Hanoi National University, there was the presence of Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy - Director of the Institute for Education Quality Assurance; Dr. Tran Thi Hoai - Deputy Director; Dr. Bui Vu Anh - Deputy Director;
On the side of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, there was the presence of Prof.Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan – University Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Rector, Ph.D. Pham Huy Cuong - Director of the Center for Education Quality Assurance; as well as staff and lecturers from the departments of International Studies, Psychology, and Sociology.
On the side of VNU University of Natural Sciences, there was the presence of Prof. Dr. Sc. Vu Hoang Linh – University Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Quoc Binh - Vice Rector; Prof.Dr. Le Thanh Son - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang - Vice Rector; with the university’s lecturers.
The 358th AUN-QA Assessment team coming from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines will have time to work at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences to evaluate training programs. The team includes 4 groups:
- Group 1: Assessment of the Bachelor of Sociology curriculum (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU)
- Group 2: Assessment of the Bachelor of Psychology curriculum (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU)
- Group 3: Assessment of the Bachelor of International Studies program (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU)
- Group 4: Assessment of the Bachelor of Nuclear Technology and Engineering program (University of Natural Sciences, VNU)
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy, Director of the Institute for Educational Quality Assurance, VNU, said that VNU has the mission of training high-quality human resources and nurturing talents; promoting science, advanced technology, and innovation - an important and pioneering role in the reform of Vietnam's higher education system. Therefore, VNU always aims for international quality accreditation of training programs.

In VNU, education quality assurance is always a regular and continuous work. Currently, the percentage of the bachelor’s degree programs that have been accredited is 63.7% of which international accreditation accounts for 32.6% and the percentage of the master’s degree programs that have been accredited is 7.9% of which international accreditation accounts for 6.7%.
According to AUN-QA's educational accreditation standards, important aspects of the training program such as the program's objectives and expected learning outcome, teaching content, teaching methods, assessment methods, quality assurance activities, faculty and students, facilities, and student support will be assessed and advised to improve. From there, the Assessment team will provide advice for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences to complete and improve the quality of the training program.

Dr. Nghiem Xuan Huy emphasized: "This will be a great opportunity for us to receive useful advice from educational experts from leading universities in the region, helping us identify our strengths, weaknesses as well as areas needing improvement of the assessment programs in particular and the quality of training at VNU in general.
Accreditation of training programs according to international standards will contribute to improving the competitiveness of students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in the labor market as well as enhancing the reputation and brand of the university, making a positive contribution to the development of society".
Up to now, VNU-USSH has had 9 training programs that have been certified for quality accreditation according to AUN-QA standards, 15 training programs have achieved quality accreditation certification according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
In 2023, the school continues to evaluate 03 training programs according to AUN-QA standards (Curriculum programs in Psychology, Sociology, and International Studies) and evaluate 03 more training programs according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training (Information Management, Library Information, Travel and Tourism Services Administration).
