Expanding academic cooperation and exchange between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Xiamen University, China

From the Xiamen University, there were Ms. Tran Chi Vi - Director of the International Chinese Academy of Education and Director of the Overseas Education Academy, Ms. Luu Uyen Ngoc - Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department, Ms. Quach Kien Hoa - International Chinese Academy of Education / Overseas Education Academy and Mr. Tuong Ngoc Thap - Head of Examination and Admissions Department.

Rector Hoang Anh Tuan shared: The University of Social Sciences and Humanities always promotes the effective implementation of student and lecturer exchange activities, organizes international scientific conferences with many universities and research and training institutions around the world. In particular, China is one of the important partners in training and scientific research development of the University, with more than 60 partners being Chinese universities and research institutes from cities such as: Guangdong, Yunnan, Shanghai,....
In parallel with maintaining the quality of traditional training cooperation programs such as 2+2, 3+1, 3.5+0.5..., Our university also focuses on building new and attractive teaching orientations with flexible time frame and curriculum, suitable for many students. Especially in 2023 alone, there are nearly 200 Chinese students being trained at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – an achievement thanks to the support and trust from Chinese students and the training program with high practicality.
Rector Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that, as leading research and training institutions in the fields of social and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Xiamen University will have breakthroughs in cooperation through the faculty exchange and research development. This is the premise for the two training units to deploy many seminars, publish scientific publications and create more scholarship opportunities for exchange students between the two universities in particular and Vietnam - China in general.

At the meeting, Ms. Tran Chi Vi - Director of the Institute of International Chinese Education and Director of the Academy of Overseas Education also shared similar opinions on the direction of cooperation with Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan. She shared: Xiamen University is an integrated training unit with strengths in the social sciences. The university has more than 45,000 students and has a large number of Vietnamese students studying. Xiamen University pays special attention to Chinese Cultural Centers around the world with more than 200 teaching and research faculty members. In particular, the study of Southeast Asia is one of the key research directions of the university - also one of the strong points in the research of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, which will be the basis for research cooperation in the future.
Previously, the representative of Xiamen University also had discussions with the Faculty of Oriental Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities on cooperation in training bachelor's degree in Chinese studies under the model of 2+2, 3+1; Combine organizing summer camps and internships; Exchange of lecturers, students and scholarship opportunities for University of Social Sciences and Humanities students studying at Xiamen University.
