2. Training objectives:
- General objectives:
To train Masters of Journalism with professional knowledge, critical thinking, strong ethics and political will, especially focusing on training professional skills, to operate effectively in the Vietnamese media industry which is developing strongly towards international integration in the context of globalization.
- Specific objectives:
The program will help students have a correct and in-depth understanding of the media industry. After the course, students will have the capacity to work in the field of media journalism and accumulate experience to become leaders, managers, and experts in the field of media journalism.

3.1 Entrance exam subjects
+ Basic subject: Basic methods in communication research
+ Basic subject: Journalism and media theory
+ Foreign Language: 1 of the following 5 languages: English, French, Russian, Chinese, German. Candidates take the Foreign Language test or use a qualified Foreign Language Certificate.

3.2 Admission objects:
* Regarding qualifications: All university graduates can take the exam, specifically:
- Have a university degree in Journalism, or a relevant major (including Multimedia Communications, Public Relations, International Communications)
- Have a university degree in a related field or a field other than Journalism, have taken additional courses, or after taking the exam, if admitted, must take additional courses before a decision is made to recognize the student according to regulations.
* About seniority:
- People with a university degree in the right or suitable major can take the exam immediately after graduation.
- People with a university degree in a field related to Journalism can apply for a master's degree in Applied Journalism with at least 01 year of working experience in the field of journalism and media.
- People with a university degree in another major are eligible to apply for a master's degree in applied journalism with at least 01 year of working experience in the field of journalism and communications, and have at least 03 journalism and communications products published and broadcast on mass media.
