2.Training program objectives:

2.1. General Objectives

ChapterThe training program is research-oriented, aiming to train highly qualified master's degree holders with in-depth knowledge of historical sciences, focusing on historical studies and source studies, archaeology, Vietnamese history, world history, and the history of the Communist Party of Vietnam. They will possess the skills to impart knowledge based on research, discuss professional issues, and organize professional activities related to their historical specialization, enabling them to pursue a doctoral degree in history and meet job requirements at educational institutions, research agencies, government agencies, and organizations and projects in the fields of history and culture.

2.2. Specific Objectives

            Upon completing the Master's program in History, students will possess the following abilities:
+ Possess comprehensive and advanced knowledge of theories and research methods in historical science and related sciences; apply these methods and knowledge to research some in-depth issues of Vietnamese history and world history.
+ Possesses the ability to creatively apply in-depth knowledge of historical science to research directions related toHistoriography and historiography, archaeology, Vietnamese history, world history, history of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
+ Possesses the ability to communicate, discuss, master specialized knowledge, and organize professional activities related to the field of history.
+ Potential to continue research and study at the doctoral level..
3. Admission Information
3.1. Admission method:Admission is based on the regulations of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi).
3.2. Eligibility Criteria
3.2.1. Educational requirements
- Possess a university degree in a relevant field with a GPA of at least "good" or higher, or have published scientific papers related to the field of study.Candidates who need to take supplementary courses must complete them before registering for the entrance exam..
- Diplomas issued by foreign educational institutions must undergo recognition procedures in accordance with the current regulations of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
3.2.2. Foreign language requirements
- Possess foreign language proficiency that meets the requirements of the training program, at level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam. Foreign language proficiency can be demonstrated through one of the following diplomas or certificates:
+ A university degree or higher in a foreign language; or a university degree or higher where the program is primarily conducted in a foreign language;
+ A university degree or higher awarded by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, within the last two years, where the program's output meets the requirements of level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam;
+ A foreign language proficiency certificate equivalent to level 3 or higher according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam, or equivalent, valid for 2 years from the date of the foreign language exam to the date of signing the master's entrance exam, issued by institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
ButApplicants who are foreign citizens must have a Vietnamese language proficiency level of 4/6 or higher according to the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Framework for Foreigners, or have graduated from university (or have an equivalent qualification or higher).butThe training program is taught in Vietnamese.Meet the requirements for a second foreign language as stipulated in the training program (if applicable).
3.2.3. Other conditions
ButHe has a clean record and is not currently facing criminal charges.

- For other suitable fields, the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities shall establish a professional council to assess the suitability of applicants for the field of study in the training program, and determine the corresponding additional courses (if needed), ensuring that the entry standards of the training program and current regulations are met; report to VNU before admission and be responsible for this professional assessment.

+ The research results presented in this thesis are the author's own and have not been published in any other research work; the use of results and citations of other people's materials must be transparent and legal, ensuring academic integrity and compliance with current intellectual property laws.
