2. Objectives of the training program
2.1. General Objectives

- Learners will be able to understand the socio-cultural and political context of filmmaking in the modern world;
- Learners will be able to receive, analyze, and evaluate cinematic works;
- Students will be able to create cinematic works.

3.2. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants for the Master's program in Film and Television Theory, History, and Criticism must meet the following requirements:
- Has a clean personal record and is not currently under criminal investigation;
- Having sufficient health to study;
- Regarding qualifications:
- Regarding work experience: Individuals with a university degree classified as "good" or higher in a field relevant to or closely related to the History, Theory and Criticism of Film and Television are eligible to take the exam immediately after graduation. Those with a degree below "good" in a relevant or closely related field, or those from other fields, must have at least one year of work experience in the field of film and television theory, history, and criticism from the date of their university graduation to the date of application.
3.3. List of suitable and related fields of study
- Suitable fields: Film and Television Technology, Film and Television Directing, Film and Television Screenwriting, Film and Television Theory and Criticism, Cinematography, Stage and Film Acting, Stage Directing, Painting, Sculpture, Architecture, Graphics, Graphic Design, Literature;
- Related fields (domestic): Literature Education, Cultural Studies, Journalism, Sociology, Psychology, History, Art Theory and Criticism, Stage and Film Art Design, Photography, Film and Television Technology, Information Science, Public Relations, International Studies, Oriental Studies, Linguistics, and fields belonging to the Foreign Languages and Cultures group (code: 522202).
3.4. Target groups and priority policies
+ Individuals with at least two years of continuous work experience (as of the application deadline) in localities designated as Zone 1 in the current regulations for admission to regular university and college programs. In this case, the candidate must have a decision on acceptance of employment or assignment/secondment from a competent agency or organization;
+ War invalids and those receiving benefits similar to war invalids;
+ Children of fallen soldiers;
+ Heroes of the armed forces, labor heroes;
+ Ethnic minority individuals with permanent residence registration for 2 years or more (as of the deadline for submitting application forms) in localities designated as Zone 1 in the current regulations on admission to regular university and college programs;
+ Children of resistance fighters who were exposed to chemical toxins, recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as having deformities, disabilities, or impaired self-reliance in daily life and learning due to the effects of chemical toxins.
Candidates belonging to priority groups as stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article (including those belonging to multiple priority groups) will have 10 points added to their foreign language exam score (on a 100-point scale) if they are not exempt from the foreign language exam according to the Regulations, and 1 point (on a 10-point scale) added to their non-core exam or competency assessment subject as stipulated in Points b and c, Clause 1, Article 9 of the Regulations on Master's Training at Hanoi National University (issued together with Decision No. 4668/QD-DHQGHN, as specified by the training unit).
