2.1. General Objectives

The Master's program in Applied Social Work aims to train master's graduates in social work with a high proportion of practical training, ensuring both national identity and modernity, while expanding and enhancing the undergraduate program. It inherits the research-oriented master's program in social work but places greater emphasis on applying social work knowledge and skills to solve practical problems, aligning with the economic, political, and social realities of the country in the context of regional and global integration; contributing to social security, poverty reduction, and building a prosperous, democratic, just, and civilized Vietnam.

2.2. Specific Objectives

2.2.1In terms of knowledgeLearners are equipped with in-depth and systematic knowledge of social work theories and methods that form the foundation for social intervention, and know how to apply those theories to identify and effectively address problems in social practice.

2.2.2.Regarding skillsTrainees are highly skilled in practical skills across various fields of social work, know how to work with diverse groups, are capable of working in varied practice contexts, and know how to collaborate with numerous social organizations and institutions—a crucial resource for social work practice.

2.2.3. Regarding attitude:This helps learners develop a responsible and ethical work attitude. In particular, it helps learners understand and appropriately apply the ethical guidelines of social work in fulfilling the roles and responsibilities of a professional social worker.

2.2.4.Regarding capabilities:Trainees are capable of solving specific social work problems in their particular field: counseling, treatment, intervention, investigation, evaluation, summarization, and reporting.
