The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is recruiting students for a short-term training course on "Journalistic Writing Skills" (basic level), commencing in April 2011.
I. General Information
- Target audience: Graduates/current students at colleges/universities. - Objectives: Upon completion of the course, students will acquire the basic knowledge and skills of journalism, specifically: + The landscape of Vietnamese journalism and career opportunities in print media; + Skills in identifying issues, gathering information, and evaluating journalistic information; + Skills in writing modern news articles; + Interviewing skills as a professional operation of journalists, and interviewing as an independent genre of journalism; + Basic journalistic genres such as news, interviews, biographical sketches, feature articles, and investigative reports; + Photojournalism. - Course duration: 8 weeks. 3 sessions per week. - Tuition fees: External students: 2,200,000 VND; Internal students (with student ID): 1,800,000 VND; Alumni of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (with diploma): 2,000,000 VND. * Use of student projects: Suitable and high-quality student projects will be published on the University of Social Sciences and Humanities website and will receive royalties according to current regulations.II. Our instructors are highly qualified professionals, professionally trained in journalism and communication in advanced countries around the world, and experienced television, print, and online journalists currently working at central and Hanoi-based media organizations.III. Graduation Certificate
The certificate is available in both Vietnamese and English, and is issued by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi).IV. Registration for courses
