1. Purpose and scope of the thesis

Research objectives:This dissertation studies traditional environmental ethics in Vietnam, and based on that, assesses its value and significance for development and environmental protection in our country today.

Research subjects:The subject of this thesis is traditional environmental ethics, encompassing the views, attitudes, and behaviors of people towards the natural environment in Vietnamese tradition.

2. Research methods used

- The dissertation employs methods of dialectical materialism and historical materialism. In addition, it utilizes analytical, synthetic, deductive, inductive, historical-logical, statistical, and comparative methods, among others, from a perspective of unifying theory and practice in its research.

- To analyze the traditional environmental ethics of Vietnamese people, this thesis focuses on and builds upon historical documents and survey results from other specialized studies.

3.Main results and conclusions

3.1. Main results

-The dissertation systematizes and clarifies some theoretical issues related to instrumental concepts such as: environmental ethics, traditional environmental ethics, and some basic norms of traditional Vietnamese environmental ethics.

- The thesis has identified and analyzed the traditional environmental ethical standards in environmental protection in Vietnam today.

  • The thesis has assessed the value and significance of traditional environmental ethics in meeting the needs of sustainable development and environmental protection in Vietnam today.

3.2. Conclusion

1. Studying traditional environmental ethics in Vietnam yields important theories and practices relevant to current environmental protection efforts in Vietnam. Specifically, the Vietnamese people have traditionally recognized the role of nature in their existence and development, a recognition derived from the nation's long history. It is within these relationships that ethical norms have been formed, and which are still preserved in both material and spiritual life today.

2. Traditional Vietnamese environmental ethical standards are reflected in their daily lives: love for their homeland and country is expressed through images and love for nature. These environmental ethical standards of ancient Vietnamese people are also manifested in their labor and production, in their daily lives, and in their traditional festivals. Studying the relationship between humans and nature in ancient Vietnam provides us with insights into the importance of environmental protection in Vietnam today: rational exploitation, combining exploitation with regeneration and conservation of nature for long-term purposes.

3. Studying the traditional environmental ethics of the Vietnamese people throughout history helps us recognize the importance of promoting traditional environmental ethics for environmental protection in Vietnam today. This provides suggestions for policy decisions by the Party and State on economic development linked to environmental protection. It proposes a new approach to environmental protection solutions: combining traditional elements (village regulations, customary laws) with current Vietnamese law, tailored to each region, where law plays a primary role in environmental protection. This integration of specific elements within the general framework helps achieve success in environmental protection in Vietnam.

Research objectives: The thesis studies the traditional environmental ethics in Vietnam to evaluate its value and significance to the development and for the protection of the environment in our country today. .

Research subject: The research subject is the traditional environmental ethics including the attitude, opinion and behavior of people with the natural environment in the tradition of Vietnamese people.

2. Research method

- The thesis uses the methods of dialectical materialism and historical materialism and the methods of analysis, synthesis, interpretation, inductive, historical - logical, statistical, comparative... from the point of view of theoretical and practical unity in the research.

- To analyze the norms of the traditional Vietnamese ethical environment, the thesis summarizes and inherits the study of historical material and survey results of other specialized studies.

3. Main results and conclusions

3.1. Main results

- The thesis has systematized and further clarified some theoretical issues related to the concept of tools such as environmental ethics, traditional environmental ethics and some basic standards of environmental ethics Vietnam's tradition.

Theoriotically, the thesis has contributed to the study of traditional environmental ethics with its basic standards in Vietnam.

Practically, the results of the thesis can be used as reference materials for organizations and individuals in environmental protection in Vietnam today. The thesis can be used as a reference for study, research and teaching on environment and environmental ethics in Vietnam.

3.2. Conclusion

1. The study of traditional environmental ethics in Vietnam draws on important theories and practices for environmental protection in Vietnam. That is, in the Vietnamese tradition has recognized the role of nature for the survival and development of themselves and the community, this statement drawn in the long history of the nation. It is in these relationships that the formation of moral norms has been preserved through the material and spiritual life.

2. The ethical standards of communication environment are expressed by Vietnamese people through daily life including the love for the country and its nature. The norms in environmental ethics of the ancient Vietnamese were also expressed through: production labor, in daily life and in traditional festivals. Research on the relationship between humans and the ancient Vietnamese has given us lessons in the protection of the environment in Vietnam today, namely, rational exploitation, both exploitation and regeneration to serve for long-term purposes.

3. The study of the traditional environmental ethics of Vietnamese people in history helps us to realize the importance of promoting the traditional environmental ethics for environmental protection in Vietnam today. This suggests the decision making of the Party and State on economic development associated with environmental protection. A new direction for environmental protection is to combine the traditional elements (conventions, customary law with the current Vietnamese law in accordance with each region in which the law plays a key role. In such environmental protection, the combination of factors contributing to the environmental protection in Vietnam has been achieved.
